NBA 2K8 is finally here! Check out some Bobcats pics inside!

I thought I'd make a 2K8 thread since it comes out today and I know there ought to be some players out here. If your not interested that's cool but I'm sure some of you even if you don't like games can appreciate some of the likenesses of the cats in the game. Ziggy if you want you can move this to the off-topic board but I thought I'd post it here for now so more would be likely to see it.

Here are a few photos and gifs. Herrmann wasn't in last years game but he looks good now. Also Crash did some motion capturing this year so they have his jump shot down perfectly. Morrison's looks a lot better and his shot no longer has that slow release.









On to the dissapointing part. While remodeling all stadiums in the league 2K for some reason decided not to remodel our new arena and instead used the now defunct Charlotte Colesium. I was pretty upset about this at first but I got over it. It's done with great accuracy all the way up to the roof structures. Here is the weird part. They included our new scoreboard in the old place. Of course I'm happy that at least made it in but it seems us Bobcat fans always get left at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to things like this. Anyways our floor is still the old floor if you noticed. Us and the Rockets both didn't announce our floor changes in time to make it into the game this year so that kinda sucks too.










Ok these are just some photos of other guys in the game that I thought looked pretty good. Notice Durant looks like he's going to fall out of his jersey? If I had a pic of Eddie Curry you'd see he looks like he just got up from the buffet table as well. The guys body types, head shapes, shoulder width etc.. are much more varied this year and believe it or not it even makes a difference game play mechanics such as spacing. Good stuff overall. Except for Ridnour, dude looks jacked up.

And finally if you haven't played the demo this year and even if you have these two videos will show you the big leap the AI took this year in play calling, improvising after a play breakdown, spacing, player weight, momentum, and for Fats if he's reading this off the ball movement.

Alright, so I hope this has helped raise your excitement level a bit for the game so you know it's not just a roster update. There is plenty more I could have went on with about the game such as foot planting, more sig moves, better layup animations, lock on d, off the ball control (Sweet new addition), called plays being drawn on the floor, collision detection etc..but I'll let you find that out for yourselves. If anyone has a 360 and wants to play some let me know. My gamer tag is chabber just like my screen name.

as far as the old coliseum goes.... at least they did call us the bobcats and get our players right.... gettin the stadium right may be to much to ask i guess.

Good stuff man. 2k has EA's number when it comes to basketball games. The ebb and flow of the games is amazing. Looks like they tried harder to get the faces more realistic this year too. Last year was a bit too robotic for me.

Dude, I shit you not - After I read your post I called every place in Ottawa to see if I could duck out on lunch and grab it but NO ONE has it in yet!! They are all meant to have it in but are still waiting for it to come in on the trucks.

Are you playing PS2 or PS3?

Oh, man that sucks. Maybe they'll get it in before you leave from work. I know a lot of people in Canada have been getting it early for about a week cause it seems they're a little more lenient on the street date. Which version are you getting?

I bought it for the Xbox 360 because that's my main system, I like the controller better and xbox live. I do have a PS3 though and I've played the demo on both systems. Can't tell a difference between the two at all besides the controller so either game should be good.

I dunno much about the PS2 version. I know they made one but I don't know how many of the newer features, animations, ai etc. made it over into that version. Possibly all of them but I just don't know.
