Biggest news to me:

"Morrison looked great in Wednesday’s night session, knocking shots down from long range, hitting his mid-range jumper and driving the lane and converting in the paint. For the first time in a while, it looks as if he’s out there playing worry free, and his game is benefiting from it."

dont everyone break their ankles getting on the bandwagon... get on now while theres plenty of seats!

1. Okafor, healthy thinner and ready to run in this new system. that just seems lethal.... a faster Okafor. Think about that for a second...... yeah i know right, crazy.

2. Gerald Wallace looks more and more like a star every season... I know this was training camp against a rookie defender. But man theres been so many signs of him stepping his game up since he got here... that i think this is the year he gets that All Star vote. Just the fact that he is able to step his game up and take over a game is a refreshing thing to hear... especially when i thought a couple times last year he took a back seat instead of taking over.

3. Everything Coach Vincent has done or said so far... has been exactly what I want from a head coach. No whining, no crying, keeping the Bobcats work ethic, a run and gun offense. I mean its almost too good to be true isnt it.


*One thing we and especially me need to keep in mind... is that this comes from the organization who has a history of blowing its own horn. Bobcats.com isnt exactly an objective source, and you never hear anything negative from them. So while im excited about what im hearing... its tempered a little with that degree of bobcat.com doubt.

mustachio, good reminder: Unlike Gilbert Arenas' work, the Bobcats blog on nba.com is a "company" blog - and they want you to drink the kool-aid.

That said - Ammo did look good this summer in summer league (I know he did last year as well), and I saw that with my own eyes on nba.com. I loved watching him play in college and it would be awesome to see him bring that to the Bobcats (outside of his one awesome game against Minnesota last year).

now i remind everyone... especially myself... that Morrison was just a rookie last year! in fact it should have been his senior year in college... plus we were expecting this rookie to come in and be the go to guy immediately... if he looks care free it could be because he feels less stressed with the environment... i had the chance to have a conversation with him for about 5 minutes last year and the main thing he told me was that he didn't feel comfortable yet getting paid so much for something he would do for free... too much pressure for such a good guy... he will challenge for 6th man of the year i believe

No doubt a bunch of would gladly take some of that off his hands...in order to help his confidence of course!

A lot of Ammo's problems were a direct result of Bernie's expectations and the way that he used him. I have no doubt Coach V will be MUCH better for him (as well as the other guys), and the odds are that he'll have a much better season this time around.

If we could see the effort on both sides of the ball more (doesn't have to excel mind, just TRY) he'll get a lot less grief...from me anyway. And to clarify, not saying he NEVER gives effort because he does, he just needs to elevate the importance of his defense up there with his offense.

Spectra very good post i compleatly agree. If he just puts more effort in his defence . I wouldn't have a problem but hes has to take some contact and quit just slaping at the ball . That will never work in the NBA.

Loving what I'm reading about the first couple of Cats in Training camp days. The 3rd day is over and here is an hilarious story about some of the vets hazing rookies Dud and Davidson.

Jared Dudley has continued to impress throughout camp, and it is looking like he will provide a boost off the bench in many ways this season with his scoring, rebounding and defensive intensity. However, I’ve also come to the conclusion that I’ll love having Dudley around for his candor. When asked if he’s had to do any certain rookie duties so far in camp, Dudley had this hilarious response.
“Yeah, I had to by 14 pizzas last night, and I think it took two hours to get here. The vets were mad and I messed up an order, but that’s the way it goes I guess. I think the bill was $175 and I got stuck with it,” he laughed. “What else did I have to do? (Earlier in the week) I had to get them chicken wings before we went on the plane and they wanted hot sauce too. I couldn’t sit up in front of the plane in first class either. I had to sit in the back with the trainer.

“Overall it’s been good though. I haven’t had to go pick up any Krispy Kreme (donuts). Hopefully they don’t hear this so I don’t have to go get them any Krispy Kreme. I don’t know, I think I take more being a first round pick, because they ask me to do everything. I don’t see Jermareo (Davidson)… actually, Jermareo had to go to Walmart and pick up all the new release movies and NBA2K8. I think he paid like $180, so he had to pay a little more than me.”

Added Davidson: “Gerald Wallace made me go get all the new releases at Walmart. It was a group of some of the worst movies ever. It was cartoons and everything. I don’t even think he’s going to watch them.”
