This is a shame. Hopefully it's not anything related to the ACL. I can't believe people would talk that way about an injured athlete. Especially someone like AMMO, who isn't exactly a trash talker. At least not to the public. He's never cut down another team undeservedly, never flicked off his home fans, etc. Hope he heels up as quickly as is possible for whatever his injury is.

i thought i tore my acl in football once because i heard it pop and it was really loose...but it was just an mcl sprain....i was still out a month though...so for a basketball player with diabetes that equals about 3 months

regardless of the injury we're losing him for some time....lets hope for the best...maybe he has super human healing abilities =-\

Got on to find this terrible news indeed last thing the Bobcats need is to start with the injury dominoe first May and now Ammo hopefully he's ok and he wont miss to long.

Has anyone found any legit updates and not just speculation from online reporters?

anytime someone like that has to miss the season, it sucks. our depth and potentially 14-15 points off the bench are going to be filled by others. hopefully dudley and herrmann are ready to step up for the WHOLE season

Well it's official he's out for the whole year with a torn ACL...

LOS ANGELES --Charlotte Bobcats forward Adam Morrison has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that will almost certainly require season-ending surgery.

Morrison had an MRI exam Sunday, after his knee buckled in the third quarter of the Bobcats' exhibition loss to the Los Angeles Lakers late Saturday. Morrison cut sharply, trying to head off a drive by Lakers forward Luke Walton, and crumpled to the floor in severe pain.

The MRI revealed a partial to complete tear of the ligament, the team said Sunday before the Bobcats' preseason matchup with the Phoenix Suns. Morrison was scheduled to fly back to Charlotte on the team plane, then be examined Monday by Dr. Glenn Perry, the team physician.

However, coach Sam Vincent was warned by team medical personnel to expect Morrison to miss the season. Morrison felt a popping sensation in the knee during the injury, so the team suspected all along that the initial diagnosis -- a severe sprain -- was optimistic.

Morrison was the third overall pick in the 2006 draft. Though he wasn't starting, he was in the rotation as a small forward. His role was expanding during the preseason, with Vincent relying more on a small lineup with Gerald Wallace at power forward.

Morrison stayed at the team hotel Sunday and was not available for comment.

This is the third recent knee injury to hobble a Bobcat. Sean May had season-ending micro-fracture surgery and Othella Harrington will miss all of the preseason after an athroscopic procedure.

Very sad news, he was doing very well this preseason, and it'll suck seeing him benched, only good thing that comes out of it is that Walter Herrmann should see more minutes at SF....taking another from PF...

Well, they just have to band together, and play some inspired ball. Use this as a catalyst to propel them forward to a great season.

If it's a compleat tare of the ACL. It's not just season ending but is carer ending . Chances of a come back to be able to play competive sports are slim to none.
It is the worst and most detailed knee seregy thair is. It takes longer to walk from it than a total knee replacement. And it will never be stable again . I Don't know of one player who ever come back from a [ SEVERED OR COMPLEAT ACL TARE] My prayers are with Morrison as he trys to rehabilitate from this injery.

    Thanks Ammofan!
