i just left s i 's truth and rumors section and it stated that portland is trying to trade channing frye and seeing that we need some help down low he couldn't hurt. he has some experience and his contract can't be to much.

We did a lot of talking on that over the last couple days. Some like us trying to get Frye and Jarrett Jack (PG), but all the talk hinged on us trading Ammo or Herrmann in the trade. Cannot do that now with Adam down, unless it turns our to be only a sprain and he will be back in a couple weeks. He said he heard a "pop" and others on court said afterwards it was not good. We cannot really dangle anyone out there in a trade now, only picks, and I do not think that will fly.

Their GM came to their practice specifically to tell Frye that it wasn't true. I can see them wanting to trade for TT as they need an agressive inside presence with Oden out, but with LMA seeming to be somewhat injury prone I doubt seriously if he was ever an option for us.

I think we'd end up being disappointed with him anyway if post defense was our aim...if we did get him we'd have the dubious honor of having two bigs tagged with the nicknames "Pillow" and "Charmin".

I'm not really thinking trade right now . Being one with bad Knees im really worried about Ammo and how bad he's hurt. Last week i was all for looking at trades but right now im just hoping the MRI has good results for Ammo.
I would only think trade after we get the results of Ammos MRI.

    Thanks Ammofan!

Exactly Dav7z. We cannot think of a trade if Ammo is out for season or even an extended period of time. I think we just plug in Jermareo at the 4 if we want to go big and Herrmann if we go small. Cannot trade with May and Ammo possibly out for the year.

Right...we now have no viable assets to trade, so that's now out of the picture.

All we can hope for is Hollins, Fabio and Davidson can somehow develop under fire...and I'm not hopeful.  Last night Hollins actually didn't look half bad, but Davidson and Fabio flat out sucked.  Davidson could never hold his guy off on the boards and was usually behind the guy.  I saw Fabio stand about 3 ft away and watch his man get the rebound and put it back...never went up with him.  That reminded me way too much of Primoz.

Spectre: Jemareo: 14 minutes, 8 pts on 3 of 5 shooting, 1 brd and 1 blk, 2 0f 2 from FT line. I did not think he played badly. But I did not see the game, only followed on line. If I had my rathers, I truly think I'd like him to start the last 2 pre season games at the 4 just to see. I have a hunch he might be better than Primoz or Hollins in the overall game. What do you think?

Dudley may become the key short term if Morrison is out long term [ hope not] . Not much has been said about DUDS but i know he can defend and rebound . He's a real hard noze player and thats what we need right now.

    Thanks Ammofan!

1 rebound in 14 minutes isn't what I call "good". And yeah, this was something you'd have to see...he continually got pushed around trying to get a board, and in most instances he was out of position anyway.

Right now I'm not focused on offense at all (and I DO like Davidson's offense); the huge issue right now is post defense. No matter how good he shoots, if we don't have any defense/rebounding we're screwed (see Primoz).

I agree. I'm a big fan of Dudley. I just know from experience how painful and debilitating Turf Toe is and it takes time to resolve. I am not sure how long he'll be out before playing. They were talking about him playing in Pre Season game #3 but he is still out. Either a bad case of it or the team is taking no chances at all with it and perfer to wait till regular season.
