Default Will May ever play again

We have all heard this same old story for the last two years. I will be fine next year. Its all most as if he teases you with his abilitys then lets you down.
So do you think May will ever play again with the Bobcats or is this just the same old story.
Do we resign him after three years of this.
    Your openions.

Isn't he already signed for the 08-09 season?

He signed for the 08-09 season but after this same old song and dance for three years . Do we keep him trade him . He has a favorable contract . We might be able to add him with a pick a get somthing for him. If the seregy works he could turn in to a solid starter. But we keep hearing next year but next year never gets hear.

Basily take another chance on him playing with much better trade value.
Cut our loses and get rid of him.

I think we should hang on to him until next winter and re-evaluate then. We can see by then if he's even worked to recover fully. Answering the questions: How's he been with rehabbing? How's his on-court dedication look when he's off-court? The guy clearly needs to get in shape and not being able to walk without crutches for the next 8-10 weeks is going to make matters worse. I say we hang on to him for now. If he shows that he's dedicated to getting and staying in-shape, then he will prove very valuable and we can trade or use him. We'll have more options, though. If he's a bum, then just can him or maybe find a way to move him during the season.

As for answering the question in the Subject line... there's no way I can say or even guess. Part of me wants to believe he'll be back and contribute, but the other part of me has seen this situation before (around, say, a month ago...).

I mentioned this before in a prior thread. I do not think May will be back. Although a favorable salary of just over $2 mil is not bad, the problem is I think that it will just be money spent and a player under salary that we will be kicking ourselves in the butt for a year from now. We will all be saying" if we only had that $2 mil from May and if we only had one less body under contract."....
Why do I feel this way? May has never been in top athletic shape, not even as a Tarheel. When you are that size, and carry that much weight, it takes a toll on certain joints in the body, expecially knees. May will be off his feet for a couple months. Then, he will have to take a couple more months off before serious rehab. When you give someone who does not have a great work ehtic to begin with, and then tell them to lay about for a few months, he will only become further out of shape. Look at those who have successfully returned from this surgery. They were already in good shape to begin with and you expected them to stay dedicated work out enthusiasts and maintain that peak conditioning. Take Amare Staudamire. I can't stand the jerk, but he was in top notch shape, and appears to be coming back well from this surgery. Others are people whom you did not have the concerns for their work ethic and staying in shape.
I just do not see May as having that dedication. He had the talent, but not the dedication. I think, unless he showed something special a year from now, I would let him go at contract expiration or use him as trade bait for someone we may need.

I think I have more of a chance of playing an 82 game season with the Bobcats than Sean May does.

I'm not May's biggest fan by a long shot (does he have any left?)...but the plus is he's going to have to go thru some SERIOUS rehab with this knee thing. If I'm not mistaken they were saying like 8 hours a day in different machines and such for months.

The boy obviously needs discipline and we've got a bunch of cash invested in his fat butt, so I think they should force him to live with the trainer from now til he can come back. No more clubs, no more alcohol, no more krispy kremes...if it doesn't have anything to do with getting his rear back on the court it's off limits.

If he can't do that we should threaten to sue him for his past compensation. He's shown no willingness to live up to his side of the bargain; no reason why he should become a millionaire off of us.

I could care less about him, he's a fat slob who will never amount to anything in the NBA.
