I bet there is a lawyer out there that would try it to see how far he could push the envelope. Although I bet the CBA would raise kaine because that would threaten its rules and structure. I think there needs to be a dud clause in all contracts, something to do with how players conduct themselves inside and outside of the arena and how they take care of themselves, injuries outside team related things, not playing up to expectations. I cant see a dud making millions just because they were good in college and signed a contract, join a team and stink it up.....

The boy obviously needs discipline and we've got a bunch of cash invested in his fat butt, so I think they should force him to live with the trainer from now til he can come back. No more clubs, no more alcohol, no more krispy kremes...if it doesn't have anything to do with getting his rear back on the court it's off limits.

If he can't do that we should threaten to sue him for his past compensation. He's shown no willingness to live up to his side of the bargain; no reason why he should become a millionaire off of us.

Very good post Spectre , I have never thought of that . It would be instering it it's ever been somthing like that in a contract. I doubt it has but conditioning is something ever player should be required to do.
If the player refused to work out then the team should be able to fine or release that player with out having to pay his or her salery.
That would make thease guys come into camp in shape.

That is a very interesting concept!! I wonder if it has ever happend?
The Vick-Falcons situation gave me that idea...but as Davcbow said no doubt the player's union has that one covered.

I can't imagine there not being something in the CBA to take care of malcontents (someone signs a contract then fails to show up for practice/the games for instance), but injury/not being in shape is probably recompensated by insurance.

I just want to make him suffer in the pocketbook, because it's his own fault for staying fat.

Spectre is taking a hard line aproach. I like it but i don't think it could be done. All most ever preseason ranking is saying we a lot worse team because we lost May for the year . It seems to me we never had May to begain with after we drafted him. But everbody is ranking us 25th or worse because of May . I DONT UNDERSTAND.

    Thanks Ammofan!

    Me either brother...makes no sense.

Like I've been saying all along, we lost Voskuhl and Knight...we picked up JRich/Duds/Davidson.

How in the world is that a downgrade?

May would have helped us no doubt...but geesh, look at what we did last year without him:

From December 27th give or take we went something like 26-29...of those games May played a grand total of 12 games. We did go 7 and 5 during his stint, but we also won 13 of the 30 games he didn't play in...two wins shy of a .500 record.

(I pulled a lot of those from memory, so they could be off a game or two)

I think most are dissing us because it's just "easy". Most probably haven't seen our team play except when matched against their team (LOL...remember, Felton's SLOW!), so instead of actually researching us they read each other's crap and embellish from there.

That's ok though...I LOVE being an underdog. We're going to prove a lot of "experts" wrong.

Its all up to him, if he does everything the doctors tell him to do and not do the things they tell him not to do, if he loses a little weight and keeps toned up yeah then he may be a help; If not? then he wont....

The only way I really see May as being of help to us is in the following way. He works hard at rehab, gets in better shape, and we can move him in a trade as either an unknown who may work out for someone, or at the worst an expiring contract. If we hold him, I do not see a contribution on court, only as an expiring contract. I would rather see him in a package for someone we want and know will help us. I know I am being one of the harsher people on May, but when someone lets you down repeatedly in their work, you lose faith in them and cut bait. The harsh realities of business. Yes we drafted him, and I know the argument that if we hold him he may yet pan out for us. I think that is just wishful thinking with our hearts and not looking at the grim reality of facts. Take a good hard long look at each memeber of the team, do an unbiased "pro vs. con" analysis, leave out all the heart felt mushy feelings, and if there are more "pros" than "cons" - keep 'em. If more "cons" than "pros", get rid of 'em.

I have to vote no on this one. Sean has never shown the dedication in the past to work his way into condition after prior injuries/surgery and recovering from microfracture requires more work, rehab and dedication than anything else out there.

I would love for him to prove me wrong though.
