In order to get into an Eastern contender role, a big man is necessary. Unlike the Celtics who can completely neglect their center position (although Perkins is better than any center we have) we must have a solid starting five to contend.
However, I don't think that any trades are necessary at the moment. Another trade would put us in a hard place to resign Okafor, and I doubt any big we get from trading could replace Okafor's potential and ability. Instead, I say we keep the men we have and go big in the draft, and if that does not work then we try to trade. I don't know what the Free Agent market looks like for next year but we better be working hard to pick up a quality big when the time comes.
