I don't understand most of the Felton bashing that's been going on so far this season. Felton's played great this year and has had some really good games. Nobody should be critcizing his play.
Ever one talking all the junk about Felton and hell hes more than likily the 2nd best point in the East.
And hes not far from being the the best . So read this befor you begain to hate.

dav,
That's an uphill battle in Charlotte now with the hyperbolic spin that has surrounded the coverage of him from day 1 (who remembers Kareem Rush jacking up crazy shots and playing no defense in the opening day Bulls comeback only to have Bonnell pin it on Felton's pg performance?). I will say that Chauncey Kidd certainly would/should get the nod over him, but the kid is playing at a high level and doing as much for this team as anyone else on the team while being at the top of the most consistent list. I know it's a sin to say that outright, but its true. Heck, Gerald Wallace said that he was the player they could least afford to lose before Philly (Bonnell cut that quote out when he rehashed the AP story the next morning) and while it is between Mek and him, its true.
Unfortunately for him, he was drafted in one of the best pg classes in recent history with 2 other guys in Paul and Williams who are really talented, are playing really well, while having been in good fits (system and surrounding personnel) for 3 years. Conversely, Felton is getting his first taste of that in helping trying to continue the ascension of an expansion team. Further, he is in a situation where the Charlotte beatwriter has a monopoly on the attention given and up until this point has been dead set on Brevin Knight as the pg, SPINNING every positive into a negative and every negative into a catastrophy in the case of Felton.
The reality is that he is a tremendous YOUNG pg (Paul and Williams are not the only pgs out there and are the exception, not the rule) who is finally getting the chance to play the spot KNOWING he is his coach's guy and learning the ins and outs of his teammates. This team is not as great and unflawed as we Charlotteans think, ESPECIALLY with the loss of Morrison and May. The fact that we have performed at the level we have should count as a positive to the POTENTIAL and FUTURE of the Bobcats AND Raymond Felton.
He should have a legit shot at All-Star consideration AT THIS POINT, but quite probably won't due as much to a lack of support in Charlotte as much as anything else.
felton has played a lot better this year than last year. his shot has improved and i think it is awesome when he takes over in the 4th quarter, getting to the FT line. i saw the boston game, he could get to the rim at will, and if he continues to do that, the cats will be solid and rays numbers will continue to be solid
Jared Dudley is also on the list as a PF.![]()
I agree that Felton is hardly the problem. I have been pleasantly surprised with his play so far, so I don't understand the criticism (some of the ABCers?). I don't know if i would call felton the 2nd best in the east, but he has been very solid. If he keeps up with this pace, maybe i would concede the 2nd best in the east at seasons end (I hope I do!)
With the injuries we have had so far I think we are doing fairly well at this point. We have never had a better record after 13 games as we do now, and with 2 winnable games coming up we could be 8-7 next week. I think if we can hit 40 wins we can squeak in with the 8 spot in the east.
As a life-long ABCer and Wolfpack fan, let me just say I thought the Bobcats pulled the right move when drafting Felton and I think that without him we wouldn't have won the 6 games we have so far this season. Having to constantly be compared to Paul and Williams is simply unfair to Ray.
On the sunny side, being lumped together in conversations with Paul and Williams is somewhat a testament to the caliber of player we have in Raymond Felton.
I feel there isnt nothing wrong with our main 4 players, they are getting better each game. Even Primoz is getting better, Ive noticed it in the games Ive watched and its even starting to show in his stats. I think alot of folks are just impatient and just want a championship without the growing pains, sort of like the NBA owes it to us or something. We are a young team and improving every game, even with the injuries we are still getting better. Coach V shows his inexperience at times but his decisions are starting to get better. He is getting better too. Im happy with our team because we are definately better this year than we have ever been so far. As far as Raymond goes, he is getting better also and it too is showing up in his stats. He still has things to learn and figure out; He will get it down.
Go Bobcats!!!!![]()
......Go Bobcats!!!!! !!!..
Im telling you guys Felton has the best chance to become a all star this year. Him and Ok50 unless Shag gets another free pass. Felton is the 2nd best point in the east behind Kidd and is bypassed Billops . Hes getting better ever game and by all star break he should be putting up better numbers than Kidd as he's getting better ever game. Felton has that swager about him like a star is tough and is determined to get better.
Right now him and OK50s play will determine how good we really are . More than Wallace and Rich.
Thanks Ammofan!
Agreed Felton has improved on every game and he only seems to be getting even better since the injury getting rid of Brevin has done wonders for him as you could see we saw a taste of the potential during the latter parts of his rookie season but now it seems like the skys are the limits I hope he continues to get better.
RIP Michael Jackson & Steve McNair
