    Default Bobcats Looking To Deal

Bobcats Looking To Deal After Losing Out On Varejao

That's the top headline on RealGM's Wiretap, and it's caused a flurry of offers (mostly bad) on the Trade Board.

A GSW fan has posted that there's a rumor that we're shopping for POB.  Most think that Fabio has more value, but as both are expiring the "fit" works as well as their salary.

A few other possibilities by other teams' fans:

    Stromile Swift
    Hakim Warrick
    Gelable/Petro
    Kenny Thomas (SAC)

There's also the expected "Okafor for crap" (duh...we need ANOTHER big) and "Your 08 1st for crap" threads, but it does appear there are some options out there.

At any rate, it certainly appears we are going to do SOMETHING.  If we can get Swift for cheap I think I might prefer that route, but I'm still slightly intrigued with adding POB...not that he'd be that great a help this year but he'd have the potential to be a keeper over time.

"I'm sure that coach is trying to figure out how best to use the guys at this point in time," Higgins said. "It's evident by the way we're struggling. I'm sure that for him it's something that he's working diligently in trying to figure this thing out."
Anybody else think that was directed at one very specific reader?

It scares me to death , our front office talking about trading for an actual player. Not a good track record as far as judging playing ability. That is why I felt so much for comfortable with a Draft pick. I don't trust our front office to trade for anyone who can actually help. I fear we will end up basically giving up someone who is an OK bench player for someone who is not an OK bench player. Oh well, let the chips fall where they may. If I'm not the one in charge, I got no control over the situation.

Unless it's a "big" trade I don't see why? If it's Fabio we're dealing (which appears to be the case) we'd just be swapping a guy who's going to walk next year for another...one we might actually play.

Jordan has said he doesn't want to mess with the youth and I'd like to think 16-17 games wouldn't have changed his mind yet.

Uhmm, what's the Coach thinking? A 3rd PG and back up to J-Rich? he can play both guards, but what about the Big Man Sam and everyone is bitching about needing? This makes no sense unless they are going to buyout McGinnis - which I would love by the way.

I'm guessing they have a trade in mind for a big. Boykins would (hopefully) limit Touche's minutes as well as speed our offense up. As we play MUCH better at a fast pace I'm not so sure that this would be a bad thing.

Don't you have to sign MLE players for 3 years minimum? I guess that'd be ok, but it seems a little high.

    Edit:

I figure they'll buy out Harrington instead of Touche'...but DA might be an option too. Much rather it be fatboy, but losing DA would only cost the 'Cats around 770k.

no it would be othella, DA is starting to fit in, but I dont think earl is the answer to our problems, unless you want a smaller lineup of

    earl pg
    ray sg
    jrich sf
    gerald pf
    mek c

which would be a really fast team, could be fun
