Default What was your best Christmas present EVER?

With Christmas only a few days away, I'd like to know what was your best Christmas present ever?

Way back in the day, Mine was a super high tech cutting age video game system known as the Atari 2600 ahhhhh It was hours and hours of fun.

My first 2600 was a huge deal. I remember my cousing getting his one XMas and I whined for 364 days until I got one a year later. My first games were Asteroids, Space Invaders, and Defender.

A few years after that I got a complete NES including Robbie the Robot (who was completely useless and came packaged with Gyromite, IIRC).

I got a Haro freestyle bike back in the day as well.

    Tough to decide.

Although these presents are on two different levels, both were huge for me.

The year the Sega Genesis came out, I got it along with Lakers Vs. Celtics and Revenge of Shinobi. I played those games out!

However, my second year in college I got my first car: a used Oldsmobile from my aunt. It wasn't by any means a nice car, but it was a solidly running and clean car. I loved it.

I guess the car was the best, but in the magical world of being a kid, the Sega had no competition, especially since I got the Atari and Nintendo so late compared to everyone else I knew. Being one of the first kids on the block with a Genesis was cool.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

My best Christmas presents were by far video game systems. I've always been the stupid consumer who has to buy the system (Usually with some of my own cash) when it first comes out, and before any price reductions.

That being said, I will never forget my NES Christmas. I can picture my Dad, cursing from behind the television as he tried to figure out the wiring systems. I can't remember how old I was, but I was super young. I knew after playing Mario Bros and Duck Hunt that I would be addicted to video games from that moment on, for the rest of my life. Good times man, good times.

Yeah I ran through the commodore series: Vic 20, I didnt get the Commodore 64 but I got the Commodore 128 then moved into the TI "basic" computers before I got my first 386 mhz pc. I was pretty good at basic programming language back in the day.

Nice link davcbow, looking at that older equipment reminded me of how bulky some of that old stuff was. It was state of the art back then though

    my favorite present was this:

I also got a nintendo 64, but I think that was for my birthday one year. All I know is that I never got an NES or any of those until later.
