If we did that trade, playing with V as a coach, his #'s would go down drastically....
V's system makes good players look bad and something needs to be done before he ruins the players values any further.....What is MJ thinking by letting this crap continue.....

Gasol has more game. And on our team, I think he would improve his numbers b/c people have to worry about Crash and J-Rich right now. Okafor has simply lost his drive. I wish he would find it, but it has disappeared.

people have to worry about Crash and JRich every game, they are not going to become non-existent. They are major players on our team.

Mek has disappeared under Sam Vincent, but so has everyone else at one point, I still would'nt trade him for Gasol, because Mek is younger, cheaper, a better definder, and a shot blocking machine.

Mek could become that franchise player with the right people working with him.

I wouldn't do Gasol for Mek even straight up. I realize Mek has looked like he doesn't give a damn of late, but don't underestimate his defensive presence. Remember back to when he was out last season and how atrocious we played. If he wasn't hurt then we would've made the playoffs last year. I realize that Gasol is a superior offensive player, but Mek and to a lesser extent GW are our only defensive studs getting regular playing time.

Yup.

Without someone like Mek I think we'd worse off with Gasol as we'd have NO defense in the paint. Opposing teams would be scoring 120 ppg against us.

Best thing IMO is to let Mek focus solely on defense and pair him with a Gasol type.

Hmm... here's an interesting thought:

Maybe MJ hired Vincent so that he would cause Mek to lose his drive and not play as well in a contract year. That way, we can sign him for cheaper than he's worth, can Vincent after the year and hire a NEW coach that can actually motivate players AND have them play their best together.

It's all a maniacal ploy!

Why is Gasol such a big trade piece? Just because Memphis is bad and he's a big man? No thanks, keep him away from Charlotte.
