I most defiantly dont here him in the huddle or in the locker room. I noticed when he went down the bench emptied to see if he was alright. He is definatly a leader, I just dont think he needs to start.

Six assists, 5 turnovers and 2 of 15 shots made...I know he will get better but no way has he been playing well to earn a starting spot over a lottery pick that's doing better playing the 2 then Boykins could at PG.

Felton at the PG spot. Dudley played well to deserve a shot at the 3, even some time at the 2 or 4.

Boykins needs to be the backup. The Ben Gordon'esque spark off the bench. He would be best utilized there while minimizing his lack of a defense.

No way boykins should start, Felton has the skills and the ability to lead the team at the 1. Why would anyone think Mcginnis should be on the team, let alone start. He must have voted for himself instead of preparing for PHX

After reading Bonnell's latest blog I'm pretty sure Vincent is going to let Ray sink or swim at the 1 spot for the rest of the year. I'm hoping he gives Felton 30+ minutes at the point and lets see if he's really our future at the point.

Why does this happen seemingly every year?

I have no idea Bumpus both coaches we have had just don't want to give Felts the keys for some reason.

I'll tell you why. If he sinks, the PG position will be the one we address in the Draft. Depending upon where we pick, it would be either Rose, Bayless or Augustin. If Ray cannot begin to flourish, it would not surprise me to see us put him on the trading block before the trade deadline to get a high draft pick or PF. I am not sure if they will hold him to be a 6th who can play the Combo Guard, although they might. He may not be a quality started, but he'd be a hell of a backup.
**Dont be surprised if we do something with Phoenix as they want someone to groom to take over for Nash. He is in the last couple yrs in Phoenix.

Like I said in the Bench McInnis thread last week, Hollinger on ESPN.com had him 6th from last overall last year, and 77th among PGs this year. He's just useless, he doesn't piss me off like he used to but he offers nothing in the way of production on the court. I dont know if he is vocal or not but I don't imagine him saying anything more than you or I would, it's not like he's exceptional in any way.

yeah i could kinda see that. I think the reason they havent let him play sole pg is because he really is better off the ball. He gets more assists and more points. However his field goal percentage is so awful he cannot be a sg in the nba. Kinda a player that doesnt really fit. Phoenix, if anyone, could make him be a good pg. We however cannot seem to. We will see how this leads us.

As much as I love Bayless I think drafting him would be putting ourselves in the same position. Bayless is superfast, a terrific driver, and has great handles, but his court vision is ehhh. His shooting is not bad but not reliable. Sound familiar?
