MattD: It kinda sounds like Ray, doesn't it. I see your point. If we could not get Rose, I think I would rather take the kid out of Texas, Augustin. That is if we are picking somewhere in the 10-13 range. If higher than that, I say go for the best player available. It will be someone who can score. I'd jump on OJ Mayo at 8th pick or later. He has some attitude, but maybe we need someone like that. Someone who will kick his teamate in the ass to get him going if his teamate is slacking off. Remember, Jordan was a hardass on his Bulls teamates, to the point of sometimes pushing them around physically. Some leaders are like that, like General Patton smacking that guy who had PTSD b/4 we knew much about PTSD. I'm not advocating some who will beat up his teamates; just someone who will be tough on them and push them to their limits.

Modified: Hey, wait a minute MattD. On the NBA Draft Thread for nbanet.com, on January 23, 2008, you had a post praising the almighty fire out of Jarryd Bayless. You were talking of him as a starter for the Bobcats. What has cooled that flame in the past 10 days? He still has some pretty great numbers, and he is only a FR. He's learing the PG at that level at a faster rate than Ray did for Carolina. Still, the comparison does raise some eyebrows.

yep I meant Ray. But on the flip side look at tony parker. Thats a risk, I would not be willing to take it at this point in our franchises development. I would pick up OJ too or Augustine. Different type players but both could fit in, we just need a definitive type player not a kinda this kinda that like Ray.

As far as finding a hardass, that is difficult to discover as a rookie, but the combination of work ethic and talent are essential. NBA superstars are the ones who put in the most work. Its just that simple. You have to want to be the best, have the most drive, come to practice an hour early and leave an hour late. Thats how I would draft a player.

I dont think mayo would be a good choice there. We could trade down a few spots and maybe pick up a big, as well as augustin who showed he could shoulder a texas squad who lost their star (durant)

Yep, and I know I did, but the more I think about these bobcats that we have the more I think conservative picking may be the best. Granted dwight Howard and bynum turned out to be great but I dont want another player who is not a true player of his position. At first I was dreaming about bayless but we've got a more mature version for us already in ray. Hes great but akward. I want either a true scoring I'd a true passing pg but no more decent at everything if you know what I mean. A solid pg and a solid center can make a team. We need more solid players, though ray did look very nucelast night. My earlier comments were just jumping the gun without too much thought.

The results of the poll showed that we here at BobcatsPlanet were not crazy.
    PG Votes %
    Raymond Felton 77 84%
    Earl Boykins 12 13%
    Jeff McInnis 3 3%

I think that you'll love the new poll. The Question is:
Are you pleased with the job that Sam Vincent is doing as Bobcats head coach?

So far we have 25 Nos and 1 Yes.
If the 1 Yes watched tonight's game, then I'm sure that they would have changed their vote to No.
