I think this team has done everything except give Felton a CONSISTENT role and needs to invest a solid year in letting him play point guard unless a BETTER option comes along.
I think this team has done everything to involve felton in the starting role.. from pg to combo to sg back tp pg.. It's not working, he has been the mising link all season and in fairness to mek, he has elevated his game.. Ray must either be traded or be coming off the bench with his play of late, which one is a better option??![]()

I think the best option is to start Felton at PG every night and let him play there at least 36 minutes. Focus on coaching him at the point and stop screwing around. Back Ray up with McInnis.
Bobcats Redemption?
three times the charm?
Felton has to play consistent minutes playing pg and dealing with the flow of an entire game. Yanking him or switching him every 6-8 minutes doesn't get him going.
There's no reason now for him not to play 36 minutes at the pg role every game from here on out.

I agree with everything. A trade would be best because we wneed to get another starter in return. Why dont we trade for BIBBY!!!!!!Originally Posted by Wil

Maybe I'm crazy, but from what I've seen, Felton has had mostly great games this year when starting at PG with few exceptions. Felton has played like a top 10 PG overall this season (IMO), people shouldn't hate him when he has one bad game out of every 7 or so.
What...we shouldn't consider him crap after one game?Originally Posted by WvsMc

Is it that easy to go from "shooter" to "passer"? Can we say "knee jerk"?

Most of the time he seems to do an o.k. job with a few great plays and a couple of "ruh-roh" moments.

I'm inclined to think he really hasn't been given the chance to BE the starting PG with any consistency. I would definitely move him if the right deal came along, but I don't know that that will happen. I am, however, all for drafting one of these young PGs in this class, with the potential to be our starter from day one. This could do a few different things, so long as the coaching staff doesn't stunt this fellas growth like we have Ray's.
One, the competition for the starter's gig lights a fire under Ray in the last year of his contract (next season), and he becomes the PG that we wanted. In addition, we have a very solid back-up in Augustin or whoever it might be that we've drafted.
Possibility two, the new guy's much better than Ray and we start him consistently and he's able to become the PG we need over the next season. Meanwhile, Raymond is a back-up. You could do worse for back-ups in this league.
Felton is the best we have right now, but Boykins is close. I'd either trade Ray to a contender for picks and a player, or let him play out the season and see if he turns it around. But unless he makes a DRAMATIC improvement, I'd be looking for a true quality PG in this Draft with the intent of making him my starter. Rose, Bayless or Augustin would all be big time improvements over Ray. If we could not trade him, then he would be my 6th man to come in and play some back up PG or my Combo Guard if we go with the occasional small and quick lineup. Either way, barring a DRAMATIC improvement, don't look for Ray to be starting next yr for the Cats.
