Thats a good move for the Hawks. Bibby is a solid PG and hes going to have a field day with all of those athletes that the Hawks have.
That trade also makes it even tougher for us to climb into the #8 spot this year.

The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement in principle to trade guard Mike Bibby to the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Bee reported on its Web site Saturday.
Citing sources, the paper said the Kings are set to receive four players from the Hawks — guards Anthony Johnson and Tyronn Lue and forward Lorenzen Wright and Sheldon Williams.
"I had some good times here in Sacramento," Bibby told the Bee Saturday morning. "Sometimes you need a change and you never know where that might take you. I just prayed and asked for what might be the best for my family and this is what happened, so you can't question it."
The trade is pending league approval that may come as early as Saturday, the report said. Sources told the Bee that there is a 4 p.m. ET conference call scheduled between the teams and league officials.

The only way I can see us with a 8 spot this year is if we have a complete turn around like right now........![]()
......Go Bobcats!!!!! !!!..
With Vincent depressing this team, we're not heading for the playoffs. Good move for the Hawks...and thankful we still have Matt Carroll...also thankful Bibby isn't a Bobcat.
Bobcats Redemption?
Agree. I don't think he's the guy to get this franchise over the hump, yet he would have kept us strapped for cash.Originally Posted by Keetch
I actually think the guy benefiting the most from this trade is Josh Smith. Two great passers now to draw attention from the D and setting him up, while have even more minutes now that Shelden's gone. Get ready for some pretty ridiculous highlights.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
Yeah, this will be good for the Hawks. I agree with you Keetch on both points. Bibby isn't the guy for us, and Matt Carroll could be a good role-player on a quality team (which I hope we will be someday).
Well, I have to give them credit. They acquired a pretty good PG and gave up very little. Lue can be solid off the bench, and the PG they gave is OK as a backup, nothing more.
The downside is that they now have no draft in 2008. Their 1st rounder is with Phoenix and now their 2nd is with Sac. Also, they took on about $11 mil in extra salary for next season. When they resign their Vets as planned, they will be right at the luxury tax. I am not so sure this was the best move for them, but their fans like it mostly and the commentators think it was a good move. I guess we will see in the next month if it was right or wrong.
This should probably be moved to the similar thread in the Around the NBA section.

I was reading over what the Sac fans are saying. Some are OK with it as a salary dump, others feel they could have gotten more.
*I am seeing them talk about an Artest trade. I know he has some baggage, but dude scores 20 a night. Would you consider bringing him over to play the 3 and let Crash play the 4? That would give us 20 pts scorers at the 2, 3 and 4. We could make it work by giving them Matt Carroll, Othello and DA. He has 2 yrs on his contract, but salary is roughly $7.5 mil this yr. I have to say, that type of possible scoring combination and only being committed for 2 yrs is enticing.
I don't think we have the disciplined squad that Artest needs to be successful. We'd be running the equivalent of an army of mercenaries out there.Originally Posted by ohara831
I wouldn't trade any of quality players (I'm roughly including Matt in the category) for anything other than a good big or a good pg. We really don't need any variety of another wing, unless it's Bruce Bowens.
