Ok guys. I've watched Tyler now for the NCAA and listened to a lot of "experts". You know I have been critical of his play from an NBA point of view. However, my mind is changing a bit. What I have noticed is that Tyler worked very hard on developing a game away from the basket. He now has a very nice and consistent mid-range 15 ft jumper. He has hit it over and over again in clutch situations.

Based on that, he is moving up into the mid 20's on the Draft Boards. No way do I take him at #8, but if we made a move from our 2nd back into the 1st, in that range, he'd be a solid pick I believe.

I think his achilles heel was shown last night. Did you notice how much he struggled with the trmendous athletes on the Kansas squad? Their speed and jumping ability seemed to catch him flat footed. He was out hustled to rebounds, beaten to the loose balls, had his shot rejected several times, and just looked slower than his counterparts from Kansas. And even his great heart and effort were not enough to cover the difference. Now, when you take into account that the NBA players are even better, that is what will hurt him.

With his ability inside and the nice mid range jumper he possesses, he wil still likely go late 1st or very early 2nd. He will be a good bench player for 15-25 min per game, and will have a nice NBA career I hope. But, the liabilities were really spotlighted by Kansas, and you can only imagine that an NBA team would know exactly how to handle him.

I honestly don't see him declaring this year Lawson either but who knows.

North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough -- The Associated Press national player of the year last season -- will return for his senior year.

Sophomores Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington will declare for the NBA draft, the school says, but will not hire agents -- leaving open the possibility of their return.

Hansbrough, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 22.6 points and 10.2 rebounds. He led the Tar Heels to the winningest season in school history and the Final Four.

I wish Ty and Wayne would return to school as well but I wish them both luck reguardless.

Hansborough has said he is going back to UNC for his senior year and wont delacre for the draft.

Usually I would be totally against that decision, but for him it's a good one. At best, in any draft, he's a late 1st and probably an early 2nd, so going back to school wont effect his draft stock.

I don't give a toss about UNC - or any other school for that matter - but I really, really, REALLY hope that UNC wins the title for him next season. I really like the kid, his hard work ethic and his blue collar approach. He seems like a really nice bloke and I think he deserves an NCAA title.

hansbrough is going to be a BEAST in the nba. better than beasley. better than love. i predict that he's gonna win at least 3 mvp's in his career. im glad he's staying at unc one more year but i cannot wait to see him in the league. everyone is doubting his potential with the big boys but mark my words... he is going to go down as one of best, if not the best, big men in nba history

    Default UNC Fan

I am a UNC fan and I like Tyler but I don't expect any MVP awards or a Hall Of Fame career from him. He will be a solid and consistent rebounder who will have scoring averages in the low double figures. I don't see him being good as a starter but a sure fire spark off the bench who does well in spurts. With a bit of work in the weight room he will be plenty good in the NBA. I predict he will be an all star two or three times in ten or more seasons.

If Tyler repeats his play of this year next season he WILL be a top ten pick regardless of the questions surrounding him. A player is a player and his consistency won't be ignored.

Interesting that Danny Greene declared. I thought he would stay and try to steal the spotlight next year and be a Lottery pick. Not sure how ready he is for 2008 Draft. Lots of potential, but he'll go late 1st at best.
