Of course, in the 1st five mins Rose had two really nice drives and finger rolls along with an athletic twisting drive and soared so high for two rebounds that I thought he was going to hit his head on the ceiling!!

He really seems to be coming into his own the longer the NCAA season lasts.
First time I've really seen him and I was certainly impressed. Sort of like a poor man's Flash with better handles?

Flash meets Billups IMO. Some people have beeing saying he's like Chris Paul or Jason Kidd - which I don't see at all. I guess they say Kidd because of the rebounds, but Kidd gets his from positioning and being smart. Rose gets his by being an athletic freak! The Paul thing really confuses me though!!

Just realized I haven't done my breakdown on him!! Will whip one up soon.

Just remember Rose is just a FR, and CP3 has a few years on him. When he gets a couple years of seasoning, I honestly think he will rival Paul as the best in the league.

Maybe, who knows? But my point was that their playing styles are nothing alike.

Very true. Rose plays like Wade with much better handle. Superstar!

Rose is a unique player. He's not pass first and he's not shoot first. If he wasn't such a breath taking athlete he'd be labelled as a tweener or a combo, but due to his size and skill set, he has a real opportunity to dominate his position in the NBA so a PG is what he will be.
He seems to play a little out of control at times (frantic even) but that might just be his style. Again, he's such an athelete that when he jumps in the air, he has the time to twist and turn and get himself out of trouble which looks frantic but might just be his style.
He has a very high dribble when running full court at top speed and I wonder if the Rondo's of the league are licking their lips at this knowing that he will be a sitting duck for steals? He'll need to tighten that up. After a shaky season where as the PG he had games that he only averaged 4 assists a game (and sometimes didn't get any at all) he's really coming into his own and running the Tigers during the Tourney. His stats sort of sneak up on you and before you know it he's got 20pts, 5 boards, 5 assists and a steal. That shows that he is good 4 qtr player and doesn't jsut breeze in and out of games.
He needs some maturity - which will no doubt come with time - but if he can bring it all together the sky is the limit. Which is also the limit with how high he can jump!!

Comparisons: Wade (explosiveness) meets Billips (pg play)

    Best fit: Bobcats, Sonics, Knicks

The more I think about it, the more Rose reminds me of Devin Harris on two levels.

I think that Rose is a ways off from being a starting PG ini the NBA. I think he'll take the Devin Harris road. He'll come to the NBA with a bit of hype, gets given the starting PG job in his rookie season, disappoints by the quarter way point of the season, has the starting gig taken off him, plays a support role as a combo guard off the bench at the 1 and 2 for the next 2 or so years and then finds his own. If people think he's going to have a huge impact from day 1 in the NBA, I think they are mistaken.

He'll need some time to "get it" - just like Harris did.

Not only that, but their game styles, builds and skills are very alike.

Still, if we wound up with one of the first 2 picks, I'd be very very happy with either Rose or Beasley. When you get talent like that, you work to find a way to utilize it.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Harris's - and I think that Rose has the potential to be Harris on steriods.
