While his shot blocking/altering is great, Thabeet has zero offense and offense is what we really need from a big as well as being able to play the high post.

    Enter Hibbert.

    Enter Hibbert.

He is raw, but he can score. He's shooting 60% and getting 10 points a game. One thing to note on his improvement is freshman to sophmore year his FT% has gone from 51% to 68%. That's 17% improvement on what's basically a mid range shot. So he's definitely working on his shot....

Hibbert also seems to reached his peak or near peak. Thabeet....could be a good pick.

Thabeet could become a stud in this league, but right now he would be a project and we already have Hollins to fit that role.

Let me ask you, would you consider Hollins, Davidson, or Thabeet the best for a project we want to put time into? Just asking...

I see what you are getting at...both Davidson and Thabeet have a brighter future in this league than Hollins. What is Hollins' contract like is he an UFA at the end of this season or does he have one more year? If Hollins contract is up at the end of the season then sure I would be willing to drop Hollins and invest in Thabeet to see how he grows. His upside is tremendous no doubt.

All of that to say...I would not want to see Thabeet and Hollins on the same roster.

I need to see a little bit more of Thabeet before I can really get a good feel for what he may become. The couple of times that I've seen him play haven't been his best games.
If I were certain that he could have a Mutombo-esque effect on the game then I would put him above Roy, but from the little that I've seen of him, hes a not starting caliber NBA center at this point, hes a year or two away minimum. I think we could plug Hibbert in to that starting slot in game 1 of the season

From what Ive read and heard about both of them, Thabeet is better at defence than at offence, Hibbert is better at offence that at defence. I think that maybe Hibbert is better at defence than Thabeet is at offence so I would have to go with Hibbert........

    ----------------------------

He's shooting 60% because all he can do is dunk. Put back = dunk. Drive and dish = dunk. Beat his man down the court = dunk. Cook an egg = dunk. Read the paper = dunk.

He has no refined offense at all. He doesn't have a sky hook, baby hook, drop step, back down, ball fake, head fake, fake orgasim. Nothing. He and EO50 on the court together would be a disaster. They'd fall over each other.

    Thabeet has nothing on Hibbert.

Now, don't take this as bashing Thabeet. I actually think he'll have a pretty good NBA caeer, but Hibbert "could" end up an All Star one day and all Hibbert will do will make the NBA 1st D team.

If we have a Bosh like big, then I would be ALL OVER Thabeet but with our current make up, Roy would be the way to go.

    Even MORE so over Jordan.

I believe Dwight Howard is leading the league in dunks this year. As long as he scores, I don't care how he does it. Thing is, I think he could develop some game to it. Sign Brand to a max contract and draft Thabeet(here's to hoping his knee is good). Let Okafor go then

Brand and Thabeet makes me drool. Never anything wrong with hoping for a miracle, right?

Howard is a genetic freak. He's amazingly powerful, quick and athletic. He also demonstrates beautiful timing and some foot work. That's how he gets away with it.

Thabeet isn't powerful, isn't super athletic and has poor timing (I don't think I've ever seen him throw down an oop).

There you go!! Brand and Thabeet would be a great pairing though! Agreed there. Further more, Hibbert and Brand would probably be not as good a pairing.
