    Default Food for thought...

So, I just finished chomping down on my hot pocket and reading Bonnell's preview for tonight's game against the Raptors and I had a quick thought. Feel free to disagree, but at least think about it.

What if: We had never traded Brandan Wright? How would we look in the next year or so?

Reasoning: I understand why we need to win now, go to the playoffs now, and score now. But Wright would have filled that gap between Crash and Okafor. Here is a long, athletic forward who can score and swat shots. Yes, J-Rich can make it rain on occasion, but this is a team that can't stop perimeter forwards (Bosh, Jamison, Garnett (to some degree)) and would really benefit from being able to stick Wright on them.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think it could have been an interesting future with Wright, especially knowing what a steal Dudley was.

Yea yea, we have Jermareo, but I doubt Ham Biscuit will ever give him the burn he needs to mature (a lotto pick, more likely to get burn)...

If it's all a crazy idea, I'm sorry, but I'm bored out of my frickin mind...

J-Rich gives us 22 pts a game. Wright will never be that good, and I think you will see us fill the 4 spot with someone productive soon - either via Draft or FA or S&T

I tend to agree with this. Had we drafted Wright, we'd have a weak, young PF and just as big a whole at SG. We needed both positions filled; we clearly filled one with JRich. Now, we go after the PF through the draft or free agency.

I'm pretty happy with the way things worked out, unless we were going to do an extended building of acquiring young talent and waiting until much further down the line to actually compete.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

I bet Wright and Davidson will turn out to be pretty even players...

So it was a good trade + we got Richardson >_>

Damn I don't see how people still question this move even though we still haven't got over the regular season hump this move is the best thing this franchise has done in it's short existence to be honest. Plus the Davidson factor is an excellent point WvsMc they both seem to have the same weaknesses (both need to add weight and muscle) with Davidson being a better shooter at this stage I loved seeing him not be shook and take it to Bosh when he got the start the other day.
RIP Michael Jackson & Steve McNair
