    Default Inevitable Possible Bigs Thread

    I started it!!!!

Now that Griffin is out of the draft, I'm quite concerned about us getting a big in the off-season. So, I started looking around for underused, inexpensive bigs that might work as our PF.

One that came to mind that might be had on the cheap is Ike Diogu. He's short, but he plays big. He did well in rebounds in blocks before the Warriors starting playing warp speed. He hasn't earned much time at Indiana, which is certainly some cause for alarm.

The good thing about him is that he's cheap and has some experience. He's only got a couple of seasons on his contract, so it wouldn't be that big of a contract to take on.

A trade I suggested, Raymond Felton for Sean Williams and Marcus Williams, gives us a center with Sean Williams, that could potentially develop into a strong contributer. Coupled with big time aquisitions of Lamar Odom and Antawn Jamison we could have a lovely starting five with 3 guys over or at 6'10.

Now do I think it will happen, no way in hell, it makes too much sense

How much would it cost to get Diop? He's getting $2.1 million this year. No matter how we go in the draft, he would be a good addition (at the right price of course), in my humble opinion.

"3 guys over or at 6'10" For the Bobcats? Get outta town!

Yeah... I'm not a fan of that trade in the slightest. I'm not impressed with Marcus Williams at all. To me, he'd be a big step backwards for us. I know some on here aren't big on Felton, but he's still worth more than those two. Sean Williams is still a question mark and appears to be nothing more than a journeyman big, the likes of which are available almost every off season.

I don't think Odom or Jamison are realistic unless we get rid of another important contributor.

I'm looking at the off-season as a time to trim fat and add quality parts. I don't think this is the season to trade important pieces, especially since we have our question mark coach.

if we're getting a new coach there's no reason we should be overhauling the team, we should see what HE is capable of, since we were all convinced that this team was a playoff team, which it probably is, let somebody capable of coaching take us there

Agreed, we should hire Larry, Paul or Rick well before the draft so that he can weigh in. However, there will be space on the roster since at the very least we're probably not going to resign DA (asst. coach) and certainly not the Big OH. Also, there's the vacated McInnis spot and we have the option of not bringing Boykins, and possibly one of the two skinny tall fellas. I don't propose letting all of these guys go, but doing so might allow us to unquestionably improve our roster.

I at least see three of these folks being gone next year. Then, supposing we sign our two draft picks, we still have a roster spot. We owe it to ourselves to bring in a solid big man.

The Bucks are still hard up for a SF right?

How about this (it obviously depends on the balls and how they fall during the lotto).

Let's say they have the 4th pick and we have the 7th pick.

    Charlotte out:
    Adam Morrison
    2008 7th overall pick

    Milwaukee out:
    Charlie V
    2008 4th overall pick

    Then we draft Mayo

    Felts - Mayo
    Swish - Mayo - Hammer
    Crash - Dude
    Charlie V - McMay - Davidson
    EO50 - Nazzy - Twiggy

Step two is that if Mayo works out, we look to move Crash in a trade for a better PF, make Charlie the back up 4, slide Swish over to the 3 and start Mayo at the 2.

The Bucks draft Love at #7 and go with:

    Mo - Sessions
    Redd - Bell
    Ammo - Simmons
    Yi - Love
    Bogut - Gadz

I like the trade Big Slam....

Charlie V has been on fire lately. I think Milwaukee would go for it because they have Yi....but wouldn't Yi likely plat SF? If he plays PF, then Adam would fit in well there.

    Who knows though.....
