The Celtics will win though....

It would be interesting. I really want to see the suns win, yet I want to see the Celtics win too.
The playoff ride is going to be fun, thats for sure

If Bynum is healthy then the Lakers. Otherwise, I'd suggest the Suns will make it.
The Celtics just have too much talent to not make it to the finals. It'd be surprising to not see them make the Finals.
Who the fuck is Dominic Mcguire
Don't sleep on Detroit!
If they want it, I think they can have it. They've got a solid core of experienced starters, and their youthful bench has come a long way this season.
I'd say Detroit v. Lakers, with Detroit pulling it out in 6.
I really wanted to pick the Pistons, but the Celtics have 3 rested superstars in their primes. It's tough man to pick against them, and I commend you.Originally Posted by Muttley

That's a solid point. Thing is, I think all things will be equalized rest-wise once the two teams meet.
First round: Philly gives Detroit more trouble than Atlanta gives Boston.
However...
Second round Boston gets Cleveland (probably), and I think that L-Bizzle will give them a little more trouble than Dwight Howard (probably) gives the Pistons.
If LeBron doesn't pull off the same type of super-series that he did last year against the Pistons, then by the time the Pistons and C's meet up, each will be just as taxed as the other.
Besides, I wasted my "trendy" selection on the West...
I'm going to predict that we wind up with 2 old reliables in the finals. Pistons & Spurs. I'm not convinced that Celtics can beat the Pistons in a 7 game series and the Spurs are well rested and will defeat the Suns in their opening series in 6 games.
I agree with you Ziggy. Those are two solid teams that have had a reliable system for years, despite a coaching change in Detroit. They're not gonna throw much new at you, but they can beat you 4 times before you can beat them.Originally Posted by ziggy
I just don't like the Spurs. Tim Duncan, as good as he is, is boring and kind of a tool. I dislike Tony Parker for many reasons, but mostly because he somehow nabbed Eva Longoria (life's not fair). Therefore, I chose the Lakers over the Spurs.
Who cares the Cats aren't in it...just kidding. NBA playoffs are the best. I like the breakdown of the east there Muttley, except I really think that the Cavs are lost, Mike James could barely coach with what they had before, then the big trade came and blew up that team and I really don't think they are cohesive enough to pull out a win in a 7 game series. So, Boston gets the easier path with Washington and the Detroit Pistons, I swear if anything they lose, please, because of their PA guy, Boston wins unless Superboy, and the hapless damn Magic, I hate them by the way, spark up in the playoffs. So yeah, Boston wins the east, but I think a lot of the series will be very entertaining.
The West, really who knows man. I mean the Lakers look good, the Suns are clicking a bit and Shaq is the wild card for them, he brings them a loose, entertaining locker room, so who knows about them. The Hornets, a lot of people are saying they just aren't experienced enough. Byron Scott has been their coach for ever, CP3 and West are solid, I think they will beat the Mavs, then Cuban blows up everything because seriously how can you lose 2 years in a row in the first round with that cast of characters? The Spurs, tried and true, will not be as good this year. Lakers take it and lose to the Celtics, all is well in the NBA again and they trade the title for the next 4 years, until YOUR charlotte BooooooobbbbCATS! take it in 2013.
I don't see anyone beating the Celtics. As soon as that trade went down last year I knew they'd win the East. I just didn't know they'd be as dominant defensively as they are. I'm not going to say that the Pistons have no chance but I just don't think they or anyone for that matter has what it takes to beat them this year even the Lakers who are my pick to make it out of the West.
My picks for the first round are:
Lakers in 5
Suns in 6 although they just lost a killer today.
Hornets in 6. This lack of experience excuse everyone is throwing out is a cop out. The Hornets are legit.
Jazz in 6
Wizards in 6
Magic in 6
Pistons in 4
Celtics in 4
