Carmelo Anthony?

On RealGM.com it says that the Nuggets will shop around carmelo Anthony....Do you think MJ will try to get him? I think he will. Yes Melo has had problems before but why would he try anything risky on the team that the guy who gave him a shoe/clothing contract, owns?

I say that I would give Denver maybe Gerald Wallace/Sean May/09 1st Rd. pick

So we still have this years draft pick, we resign Mek and have a lineup of:

1. Felton/Boykins
2. J-Rich/MC
3. Melo/ The stache
4. Emeka/JD/ Jermareo
5. Kevin Love?/Nazr

that is a playoff team...and out of the first round in the east!!!

I posted that on a Few Trade Ideas thread a couple hours ago. Since they are saying that they may trade anyone, I thought of Melo for Crash and Carroll, and then switching off our 1st rounders. That gives them a quality SF in Crash, a backup SG and moves them up from 20th pick to 8th pick. We get Melo who will complement J-Rich better than Crash as far as skill sets they possess, and we still can draft a big man like Love, JaVale McGee, or someone similar. I think Melo is getting to where he is wearing out his welcome in Denver. I hate trouble makers, but damn that man is talented. I would like to think that LB can handle him as a Coach, and the team chemistry will help. Finally, Charlotte is not as big as Denver and hopefully he stays straight.


You are dead on when you say that potential lineup is killer! That gets us deep into the Playoffs I think, especially if May and Ammo can come back and provide some quality bench depth with Dudley, Davidson and Hollins. If we have that 2nd rounder, which seems to be in dispute depending upon which source you look up, we grab a PG to back up Ray.

My oh my, that sounds like a starting 5 which Slam would go for. Is it, big fella?

This is a great idea. Im willing to give up crash as well as maybe a second tier player for Anthony. Throw in the draft pick and I dont see where we lose much. I saw we hit the lotto and get DRose, then trade crash and felton for melo.

I have a major problem with this.

Emeka would play the 5 and Love would be the 4.


Other than that it sounds like a good trade. I'd hate to part with Crash or Hammer, but that's the business. I do worry about Carmelo, though. Not as a player. Seeing him in the driver's seat with team USA, I can say he's worth trying for. If it's just a DUI (not to belittle the seriousness of it), then maybe we give him a second chance, but you have to be sure he doesn't give the stubborn anti-Bobcaters more crap to say about the team.

Final decision, I'd say try it if it works financially.

like maybe

but then again, idk if melo would be able to play the 4, we'd be pretty undersized i guess and crash isn't playing the 4 anymore...but the lineup could look something like

felton/boykins
jrich/carroll
crash/dudley
melo/davidson/mcmay
nazr/love?

we'd be really undersized tho, especially with both of those centers being under 7'0 so yea idk if that would work, just thinking of all the options

How do any of these scenarios fit in with what Larry Brown will want to do? What I'm saying is do we think the guys being tossed around here are/aren't LB players?

Also, we don't have any defensive/offensive post presence. I don't know what this buys us. We're trading a good wing player with a great contract and some salary for a great wing player with a great (for now) contract...to do what? Go after Elton Brand and hope the ping pong balls go our way?

uhm, I beg to differ. Melo is a LB man, he is any Coach's man. The kid is a STUD! And he can play the 2 or 3, but not a 4.

your right ohara...plus we need a team leader that can take us to the playoffs here. Right now we dont have that, although Jrich is close i think.
