I don't think it's a hatred of our team. I think it's writers trying to be witty or funny and referencing the NBA fracnhise they believe to be the least familiar among their readers. The Sporting News did a piece (of garbage) on our team back in December and called us the most insignificant franchise in professional sports. Of course, one week later we had ESPN's All-Access: Charlotte and we were everywhere on the World Wide Leader from television to radio to ESPN.com. After that came MJ's "practice seen round-the-world" and suddenly we didn't seem to be quite so irrelevent. Player of the Week honors for JRich, a naming rights deal, a broadcast rights deal and hiring Larry Brown in less than 7 week's time put us in the national conversation as well at the end of the season.

We're going to be fine. It's going to take a little more time, but the pieces are starting to fit and the picture is becoming clearer.

I think you're right Micheal. Sports writers see us as the demographic that is at the same time the easiest butt of jokes and also the least amount of readers that will be alienated by our team being mocked.

However, look what happened to the Hawks and the Hornets in the span of this season. Early on, their attendance was horrific and no one gave them any credit. Then they made the playoffs, attendance skyrockets and they gain respect.

We're definitely headed in the right direction.
