Spectre would you go big still at 13 or just take the Best guard on the board if we lost Ammo? I think I'd take a chance on Donte Greene or Batum if we gave up Morrison.

Heh, I pretty much always want to swing for the fences, so definitely BPA. I think I watched Greene one time and it appeared he really loved that outside shot. Of course he's young and would take time to develop, but if we decide he has mega potential then pull the trigger for sure.

Wonder if Jordan could slip to 13th? Maybe he'd have the most potential?

I've been watching video and checking things out, and I liked Anthony Randolph out of LSU as well as Darrell Arthur. Both are bigs and have a high ceiling...

With one of the top 5 picks supposedly having a draft guarantee for Deandre Jordan, and Mayo being hyped up...

I'd love to grab Eric Gordon, as well as either one of those bigs if we did happen to nab the 13th pick, because it'd be likely that one of those two are still there.

Some mocks even have Love around at #13. I'm not so sure, but I bet we could get almost as good a prospect at 13 as we could at 9. If we traded for Jack/Frye, then we'd be a bit freer in our choice at 13. Young big man prospects are probably the most enticing, and if we could get Jordan we might have the luxury of giving him time to develop while Oak/Frye/Nazr hold the 4 and 5 spots down.

I'd be very interested in that Portland deal. Doesn't seem like we're giving up a whole lot (especially if we send May). Any chance that any those Blazer fans from RealGM have names like "NCSUNate86" or "KU KevP"?

Greene needs to bulk up I think it would make him a better overall player the skill is there though I think his late season play hurt his stock a little like Eric Gordons. On the subject of DeAndre Jordan though I saw that he has a top 5 promise from a team in the lottery this year. I kind of find that hard to believe but you never know anything can happen I'm hearing Kevin McHale wants Kevin Love bad.

Saw the video of Anthony Randolph on youtube a few minutes ago I swear he looks exactly like Brandon Wright coming out of UNC but as far as skills he looks like a faster Bosh with the handles of Odom If he falls in our laps I'd keep the 9th pick and take him.

ok never mind, I thought you were talking about Danny Greene, wooo I was nervous there.

Donte Greene is a great guy to develop. I like his game. Nothing like a 6'10 guy with skill. Theyre hard to stop.

Heh, nah, not any like those!

Thing is, used to be the Raptors were the unquestioned homers on RealGM...probably because there's just more of them. Here lately though, the Blazers have really been giving them a run for their money (things like "I wouldn't trade Oden for Lebron" type stuff).

They're REALLY down on those two, and most especially Jack. Almost all their fans seem almost eager to do that deal...so much so that it has me worrying that we might actually be overpaying.

Spectre, I'd do that Portland trade pretty easily, especially if it just cost us Morrison.

In all likelihood, Jack's not going to be that much of a step down from most of the pgs available, at least in terms of playmaking abilities. I'm not convinced Frye is an NBA starter, but considering how thin we are, I'd love to have him. As most people have said, 9 to 13 may historically show a big drop, but right now there seems to be little. Plus, if we take a player like Arthur, I feel like we'd be reaching less than if we picked him 9th. Morrison, may be a good player, but I think he becomes a slightly craftier version of Kyle Korver.

This is my overall take on trades this summer: We don't trade Felton, Wallace, Okafor, or Richardson unless we're getting a clear starting caliber player, one that will make vital contributions on a nightly basis. If we're just getting a placeholder of a starter, then there's not much to doing the trade unless we decide we're still in serious building mode.

Carroll and Dudley can go if the right pieces are there. They're good character/glue guys who have more value than their statistics represent. I don't want to toss them around as filler, but I wouldn't hesitate to trade them if the right pieces came along. Because of his upside, Davidson almost fits in this category, but not quite. He's still a project.

I guess the only reason that I said this is because I've seen so many trades suggested where we trade a key player and get only parts in return. Unless we get a top 3-4 pick and use it wisely, I don't see anyone in this draft that is worth one of our key players.

A trade like this Portland trade, though, is exactly what we should be looking for: we move pieces that haven't made big contributions for pieces that we really need. If none pan out, then we're not hurting too much because the cost was little. I'll gladly trade Morrison's upside for a backup pg who can likely make nightly contributions.
