    Default Bonnell is an idiot

Trade #9 and players for Rasheed Wallace. It is a $13.68 mil one yr deal which expires after one yr. I think he's drinking again!

To make the deal even worse, 'Sheed is 34 with a history of not playing hard all of the time.
I'll pass on that really, really bad deal.

I don't know, I actually don't think its a bad idea. Yeah, sheed makes 13.68 million, but if he leaves after next year then we have that much more cap space. Also I don't know how much value the 9 pick has in this draft. If you look back for every Dirk and Amare who were drafted 9th there are many more Joel Przybilla, Rodney White, Mike Sweetney, Patrick O'Bryant types out there. I guess I am saying it is a big crapshoot at the 9 slot, and by getting Sheed we at least have a known commodity who Brown likes. I think I would go for it IF we only included May. If we did it, I like a front line of Sheed and Mek, and I just hope this years 9 is a bust for Detroit. If they pick another Przybilla with the pick then Jordan would be 2 for 2 on draft day trades.

I don't think it's the pick so much as the matching salary we'd have to send back...almost 11 million bucks minimum.

Hammer is BYC and that won't expire until June 30th...which makes trading him with a pick more difficult. Dumars is NOT taking Nazr back (and I don't want to lose him...only legit backup C), and unless we add in a core piece we don't have the players left over to even equal that salary.

Trading Crash for Sheed...won't totally dismiss it (but not with our pick!), but I'd rather explore Crash for Booz or Odom.

    Felts/Westbrook/Swish/Sheed/Mek

    wouldn't be too bad.

    Edit:

Oh yeah...Bonnell's definitely an idiot. As old as he is I doubt he'll ever be anything but.

Would you all do (Bobcats out) Crash and 9th pick for (Bobcats in) Stuckey and Sheed? I think it's more even on both sides not sure Dumars wants to give up on Stuckey after a decent rookie season though but it sounds better than that bull that Bonnell posted.

I don't see LA breaking up there current chemistry by getting rid of Odom sadly spectre but who knows.

Yes I would...I wanted Stuckey last year. But like you said, reports out of Detroit has Stuckey as the only guy Dumars doesn't want to trade. Still, he was what...a 15th pick? To me that's a "fair" package.

Thing is they have Prince. Unless he's going out too Crash doesn't make a lot of sense for them does it? I seem to remember last year they expressed interest (when he was a FA) however, so who knows?

I think Odom is going to be the odd man out next year when Bynum returns, plus Kupchack had a meeting with season ticket holders about 2 months ago and said flat out that they don't know if he's in their long term plans.

Add in that Crash would make an excellent substitute for Radmonovich as well as having UNC guys talking to each other and I can see the possibilities.

Wilbon said something about the Sheed to Charlotte thing on PTI yesterday too. I don't know if he got it from this, or from his own sources/intuition.

Scoop Jackson is saying Sheed for Crash and May. Now, if no #9 pick is involved, I am a bit more favorable to the trade. Keeping our #9 pick and having Sheed for a yr, and then either resigning him or having $13 mil come off the books is OK. If that happened, I might think about Gallinari at #9 also. Jackson said that LB is not so hot on Crash and likes Dudley alot. Dudley may see his way into more PT and Crash on the pine more, so if that was the case, the trade makes sense. Especially if we can also get them to trade their 1st for our 2nd in this deal as well. Thoughts?

Sheed for Crash and May doesn't work money wise.

I don't see why the Pistons would want to do it with Prince already on the roster.

Even if they would, I wouldn't - unless they think they REALLY have a shot at Bosh/Flash/LBJ in 2010 and want to free up room to try and sign them.

With that said, I don't think we are a hope in hell of landing bosh/Flash or LBJ in 2010.

It should work or at least come close after July 1st. We'd have to send 11 million out; Crash is making 9.5 and the fat guy is stealing 2.7.
