    Default Member Interviews: Spectre

It's time! We start off our BobcatsPlanet.com Member Interview with longtime member Spectre. We hope this gives everyone a little perspective into the minds of the posters, and gives you a chance to see where some of these post are coming from.

Feel free to ask more questions or to drag more details out.

    Bobcats Planet name: Spectre
    Real name (first only): Henry
    Age: 45

    Hometown: Siler City
    Occupation: Engineer

    1) How did you choose your screen name?
    -Scooby Doo...

    2) Could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?
-Country born and raised. Married, 2 kids (boy & girl).

    3) Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any High School clubs and such?
-Played JV basketball, up to Pony League/High School Baseball

    4) What is your fondest memory of your teenage years?
-My fondest memory is that I don't remember.

    5) What was your first job?
    -Priming tobacco

    6) What lead to your dedicated following of the Bobcat's?
-Home state team...getting in at the beginning.

-Swish beating the Celtics in Boston.

8 ) How did you find the Bobcats Planet and what keeps you active on the site?
-Looking for ANY Bobcats' news. They're my passion (other than family) and I just can't get enough.

    -Hurricanes, Panthers.

    10) When you’re not on Bobcats Planet what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?

    -3...not enough.

    13) What is your worst fear?

    -Ball, Yugioh with the kids.

    15) What’s your favorite food?
    -Lasagna

    16) Where are some of the places you’ve been, and where are some of your favorites.

Never knew why they call it "priming", but it's just picking the leaves. Since it's usually done when it's very hot and you're out there all day bent over...they should just call it "hell".

I know I would. I'd be so delicious.

Rats. I was off with my family and parents on Father's Day and then watching the US Open. If still ongoin, Spectre, I have a question. What sources do you consider the most reliable when you are researching the game of a certain player you may consider in a Trade for Charlotte or in the Draft?

I'm not quite sure I know what you're asking. First thing I do is check Draft Express for the player's salary and length of contract once an idea pops in my head. I usually have an idea what assets I would or wouldn't give up for said player, so then I head over to the one of the trade checkers (assuming there's no BYC or anything...then I have to do it by hand) and see if I can get it to work.

I then run it by Big Slam...if it passes his test then I usually put it in here and/or on the trade board. Course we've been beating this around for so long we kind of know what the other will think.

If you're talking stats, basketballreference.com is pretty awesome. Oh, and I almost always go to that player's RealGM board (might need to go back multiple pages) and get what they're feeling about that player too.

I agree. Very good Q&A that gave "spectre" personality, but avoided being too personal. I think the sequence should be longest tenured members, which would be the least convoluted, I think. I smell our founding father, Ziggy coming up next....
