Bonnell and a Bobcats spokesman is saying that McMay has been no where near Utah of late and that the rumor is bogus:

Just read it, and you beat me to posting it!

What Bonnell says in the blog is not anywhere near enough to make me any more skeptical of the trade actually going down. It's already well-established that it's conjecture. The Bobcats saying it's not true doesn't mean it's not true, and Bonnell in no way convinces me that the trade doesn't make sense.

    Still, it's probably not true.

Honestly, a. since when has a team official denying something been a reason to believe him. and b. how many times has bonnell been wrong?

Didn't Bonnell say there wouldn't be a Jason Richardson trade?

Didn't the team say they were trying to move up in this years draft?

It MAY or MAY not happen (pun) but what was said today has no bearing on the truth.

I definitely agree that it doesn't make any sense for the Jazz. I havn't understood their fans eagerness to trade Boozer for Wallace this whole time past the fact that he may leave them when his contract is up. The players playing out of position can be annoying as we can atest to but as good as the Jazz are I wouldn't be trading away a 20/10 player and changing the make up of the team that way. I'd be trying to move other guys.

It would be a fantastic prospect if it happens, Boozer and Okafor in the frontcourt .. emm . I don't see it happening though, I don't see why Utah Jazz would want to get rid of one of their core players regardless of his contract. I honestly think we would gain alot more than the Jazz in this deal but like I said I don't see it happening.

Does that bother you any more than having Muhammad, Hollins or Ajinca in the starting line-up?

Ajinca has the potential to start if he continues to gain weight/bulk up he at least he has basketball skills unlike Ryan Hollins who is just a freak athlete. As for Nazr Mohammed he could step right into a center starting role if we lost Okafor. Dudley and Ammo can ball don't get me wrong but they are not starting material guys on this level IMO (neither is Hammer) but with that said they will still contribute and help make our bench stronger next year. If we shopped Crash for a PF looking at our bench along with Ajinca I think Weaver has the most upside to be a starter in the near future for us. Mainly because of his potential to be a lock down defender in the NBA, pretty athletic and would put another player with great ball handling skills in the starting line up.

    Default Starters

I'm not saying that Morrison or Dudley are perfect options, just that they are better than Hollins or Ajinca (at this point in his career). Muhammed certainly is probably the best suited of the 5 to start right now. He is certainly a center though and not the best fit in the frontcourt with Okafor. Neither can guard the perimeter 4's of the league.

My point was simply in response to the statement that if we made the trade either Morrison or Dudley would start. If we don't make the trade (for Boozer or another PF, then we would be starting someone at either PF or C who isn't really starting material in this league. Muhammed could do the job, but he is more suited to be coming off the bench in my opinion. Hollins is not capabale of doing the job (although Brown's coaching gives me hope) and although I'll reserve judgement on Ajinca until at least after the summer league, he certainly doesn't look to be physically or mentally ready to start in the NBA at this point. That leaves May who we can't really talk about until he proves he can play more than 50-60 games in a season (or maybe 20-30.

Morrison still has loads of upside and Dudley is a very, very smart player. With a coach like Brown, all the players should change (hopefully for the better). I'm excited to see how he can impact our young roster.

First game in Vegas is at 6:00pm tonight (I think). Go Bobcats!
