    http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/...POR/recap.html

i'm sure everyone's already seen this, and i know it's just one game, but this already made me sick to my stomach...he could've been ours

*and by the way...brook lopez averaged 19 points a game in summer league play, yet another reason to vomit

The thing that has made me the most sick has been watching Anthony Randolph dude will be a stud reguardless of his frame right now. And yea I watched that game just to see him and he looked like Monta Ellis V2.

donta greene scored 40.... i cant believe we passed this guy up twice. what the hell were we thinking? the season is over. jj hickson had 26. arthur had 9 fouls (oh wait, that's not good).

its summer league. bayless is a nice player, but the wiz were playing crap defense and fouled him every time he put the ball on the floor. i was just as impressed with dj's ability to run the offense and execute out of the pick and roll as i was with bayless getting to the ft line over and over. bayless was not the right guard for lb, dj was.

And for all those who dissed Brook Lopez, he has done very well with the Nets. I like DJ, but seeing that a BIG was our main priority, we may regret passing on him.

Yep on Randolph. That versatile 4 spot is where we had a primary need and we went high for a secondary need instead.

I like Alexis' potential and Augustin for helping solidify our pg depth, but if we were talking about what could help us more NOW, getting versatility and mobility in the frontcourt was a higher priority IMO.

^The Warriors actually had him running the point for most of the game and he looked amazing.

I don't see why everyone is so hyped over him we all knew he could score in a variety of ways but he plays lackluster D and still can't rebound for sh!t not sure Coach Brown would have liked him very much.

To fatlever: DJ is a Larry Brown point guard but IMO Bayless would have been for our team what the coaching staff has been wrongfully trying to make Felton during his entire NBA career. That is a true combo guard that can play 2 spots and still be productive like I said on draft night in his first few years Bayless could have spelled both Felts and Rich and in the future be the replacement for Swish at the 2 guard spot. Felton and Augustin might be a little more similar than Felton and Bayless.

i dont doubt for a second that bayless will be a dynamic combo guard who can score, but we needed another playmaker in the worst way. bayless probably should have been selected before we pick, god knows i would have taken bayless over gordon if i was the clippers, but i just dont think bayless was right for our team. i am very content with dj as our pick, regardless of what bayless does in portland.

as for randolph, he would not have helped our pf woes. dude is a small forward and despite a nice summer league showing, he's nowhere near ready to contribute on a winning team.

lopez is a solid player and i couldnt really argue with him as our pick, but i'm glad we passed. those twins annoy the shit out of me and i look forward to hating on them for the next decade.

It summer league. Brook can easily score against the opponets who are all significantly shorter then him, Bayless can beast players who arent as quick a him, randolph can outquick big guys who arent that quick, but once they make it to the actual nba level, the stats will be a lot different

The Knicks beat Cleveland who were in the second round of the playoffs. So clearly, NY's gonna be a contender this year.

We're talkin' 'bout practice. Practice. (with props to whoever posted the AI video in another thread)
