Default Summer League Game 5 Bobcats vs Knicks

Ahh Saturday afternoon no where to go lets watch some summer ball on NBA.com. It's the MSG feed so we have announcers and interviews and multiple angles. MSG, YES network, what CSET could have been if we had a legendary baseball team in Charlotte that people would watch games at least 150 days a year and then 82 more for basketball. Walt Clyde Frasier sounds like he's senile or like when they roll out old rappers that have lost it a little, rhyming for no real reason, talking slow. Couldn't these guys do a little research instead of taking a free trip to Vegas? I know where these guys went to school, what else can you tell me other than height and weight? Surprisingly little mention of Larry Brown. Oh well, better than nothing.

The game itself was a standard summer league game. Sloppy, lots of running, lots of hustle, lots of turnovers. Not many set plays after about the first 5 mins. First impressions: Bobcats, even these scrubs, are well coached, far better than the Knicks anyway. Ryan Hollins, athleticism or not, can't play. Jared Dudley has a high BBIQ, we all know it, can we stop talking about it? Jermario Davidson can play. Alexis Ajinca got hurt, will probably get hurt a lot more if he doesn't really work on his strength and conditioning. Nate Robinson is a punk ass bitch and I don't like him at all, as evidenced by his technical late in the game while sitting on the end of the bench.

Good, boring game. Bobcats got out to such a huge lead there wasn't much to talk about but I think several things were very telling. Did anyone else watch?

    I missed the game --

How did Ajinca start, play 8 minutes and have 0 points?

You mentioned he got hurt -- how badly?

I agree 100% about Nate Robinson being a punk. Talk about a guy with Napoleon complex. I still remember that brawl when he was with the knicks and he was just trying to fight somebody, anybody. If memory serves me correct that is the brawl where Carmelo sucker punched Mardy Collins and backpedaled like his ass was on fire, and Robinson was just trying to get in the action. I just don't like Robinson.

I really had hope for Twiggy too, you see the hops and the dunks and you just hope the switch turns on. If you could give Twiggy Jermario's offense, and cut down on twiggy's fouls, then we would have a damn good power forward.

I haven't read how badly and the Knicks' announcers didn't mention us much, but it looked like he twisted his knee. He hit the floor and stayed there (I think on defense) while all other 9 guys went the other way. After a made basket he got up and hobbled to the bench.

It didn't look good, but hard to say.

DJ has tendinitis in his right knee.

We beat them, but I don't know how much of that was us being so good vs. them playing one on one so much. We did have a height advantage and we played to that.

    Edit:

    July 19 – 2:25 PM
    AJINCA INJURED
Midway through the third quarter, Alexis Ajinca injured his left knee on one of the Bobcats’ offensive possessions. Getting up under his own power and hobbling to the bench, Ajinca was taken to the locker room for further evaluation. After being checked by the Bobcats training staff, it was announced as a left knee sprain.

Yeah Ajinca went down on a try for a rebound, looked like it hurt pretty bad they called the time out and he was only like 5 feet from the bench and kind of shoved himself to the bench. I don't know if he came down on someone's foot or something. The scary thing is he sat on the bench and one guy I've never seen before came over and then the little equipment manager sort of stood by. The training and doctors for this team suck, I know it was summer league but come on.

The Knicks are going to BLOW. They have like 8 guys on their roster that they can call guards. It's Randolph, Lee, Crawford and the guards. Hope someone can rebound to start that run and gun offense.

I really don't get how they don't mention Larry Brown for the whole game.
