    Default Fred Witfield "Taking on more responsibility" related to team Marketing

    The Bobcats and their chief marketing officer are splitsville.
    Perhaps this will mean a better marketing campaign from the team.
    Perhaps this just means one last paycheck for Bobby J. to sign.

    Also, all the higher-up members of the Bobcats organization have somewhat ambiguous and similar sounding titles.

    I think that's a money savings thing maybe. They don't have plans to replace him, so.....no marketing? I'm sure Fred and Rod aren't sitting around going "man, I don't have enough to do" so how are they going to handle additional responsibilities? I bet this falls on our boy Michael Thompson. Longer hours ahead Michael?

    Also, why oh why do they have to talk about MJ? MJ is the head guy on the basketball side, not involved in day-to-day operations. He doesn't have anything to do with marketing, other than his name being associated with the team.

    We obviously don't know the reasons in behind Greg's departure, but I do know that in hearing Fred speak and the few times I've interacted with him, I can say he's an impressive individual. The Bobcats were in some bad deals when he came aboard (debt structure and TV deal, to name some they've talked about) and they're in better shape due in large part to Fred Whitfield's efforts. I can't see where having him guide the marketing side will be a bad deal.

    Marketing needed help big time . T his move might help us get in the right direction.
    We as fans all say the team needs to give us more information. Its as it the team don't exist in the off season . I went crazy over the Rich artical . We as fans should see somthing like that all most ever day from a marketing stand point .
    Out of sight out of mind.
