i love it... if we can get him I think we will be solid throughout. Give Sean may some motivation...

rockets extended an offer and he hadent taken it, and pretty much said if he doesnt hes gone I thought, so maybe some potential to snag him? Im rootin for it

At least we made a move. I hope this doesn't turn out like the Varejao one where it seems they were just doing it to help the other team out.

I'm hoping they don't match too. It looks like this offer is probably double what he's recieved from them before.

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the Bobcats have extended an offer sheet to free agent PF Carl Landry.

Landry had a falling out with the Rockets this summer and there's a decent chance they'll let him go to Charlotte. Landry would potentially start at PF for the Cats, as early word is that new coach Larry Brown wants to start Emeka Okafor at center. In addition, this would clear the way for Luis Scola to get major minutes at PF in Houston. If Landry goes to Charlotte, Sean May's potential value (if he proves healthy) takes a hit.

    -Rotoworld

Heck yes, I was hoping they'd offer him a contract...Rotoworld think we may have a shot of them not matching...I hope its true....I believe he could be a starter as well...

    PG: Felton (DJ, Brown)
    SG: JRich (Carroll)
    SF: Crash (Ammo, Duds)
    PF: Landry (May, Jermareo)
    C: OK50 (Nazr, Hollins)

Hoopsworld says the deal is $9 million for 3 years. I love the length and the price, more than these, I loved to see an action by FO.

Actually the price is not too high for Rockets to match, however, they are at the luxury tax border. The deal will be double for them if they match. As I had said before that Landry will not adress our problems 100% percent, for this price he's a bargain. He was an essential piece in their 22 game winning streak last year.

This move is definitely exciting. Let's see what Rockets will do. I suppose the deal is front loaded to make things worse for Rockets.

I had mentioned earlier today on RGM that I liked Landry, but thought that Jermareo Davidson could actually match and surpass the Landry numbers if he was to start in place of Sean May for some reason. The only drawback on Jermareo is he is foul prone. Ajinca was drafted for our PF of the near future. It makes me wonder why we would sign Landry to a 3 yr offer when he's only 25 unless we really have doubts about Ajinca being able to contribute within a yr. If that's the case, then we really screwed up drafting him with a 2nd 1st round pick. Not sure what the FO is doing.

I really haven't seen him play much but on the highlights he is a beast down low. I hope he has a 15 to 8 ft jump shot. This may be what we need. May might not be able to go all out and this will give us a solid rotation with May, Landry, and Davidson at the 4. I hope this is our lucky break. This could jump start us for the upcoming season. What really impressed was the rebound over Duncan on the highlight reel.
