Since we didn't have the great access to previous camps as we have this year, I can only theorize, but something tells me there was actual teaching taking place....in spades...compared to previous coaches/camps. Also, conditioning was at a highler level this year than previously. Knowing that coach can sometimes get under his players' skin, I think it's a good sign that so many of the players were so enthused and eager to prove themselves to coach, and looked like they were ready to take on the world after their 10th and final practice of camp.

Without doubt, the best training camp in the 5 year history of the club!

I have to agree with Beagle that we haven't had this type of access to training camp before so it is really hard to honestly compare. With that being said though, I don't think camp could have gone any better.

Almost every question about the roster has been answered in a positive manner. Morrison's health, May's knee, DJ's ability. Ajinca has to add weight and strength but the fact that Brown is saying great things about his IQ and hustle is great. Lot's of other questions answered as well.

The biggest thing I think we learned from camp though is the fact that Larry Brown is a great fit with this group of guys. I haven't seen him frustrated one time (at least not publicly). He constantly says that these are one of the best group of guys he has ever been around. The fact that they have all bought into Larry's system is awesome.

All the pieces are really fitting together. We are ready to make another big step and make the playoffs this year. I'm sure of it.

    Default Great

See that darko read was decent. Its a totally different view that the one posted in the thread below where it claimed Ammo was in great shape not favoring the leg and may played like crap.

Guess we can find out tomorrow as we watch the Bobcats beat the magic. But I do have to give mention to whats up with the Magic finally giving JJ playing time. he from reports was explosive, block, steal and 2-2 from 3pt range and 12 points in 18mins. You guys think they are letting him play and showcase his skills for trade value? I like ole JJ, just don't think he has been giving a fair shake.

But back to the cats, I think May will have a bit of re-adjustment/ getting back in full game shape, but I think if okafor can play with heart and may is healthy that we have the missing peices under LB's leadership to be playoff bound.

    Can't wait til tomorrow night.

That was a great write-up. Aside from Ammo (and it sounds like the writer never really cared for him, so there may be some bias there), it looks like this is the team (and coach) we've been waiting for since the announcement of the franchise back in...'02 was it? I love his love for Alexis....it seems to me from coach and this article and other sources that this kid has "special" written all over him, but believe me I'm not expecting much early, but still, I'm really wanting to see him in game action at the Biscuit.

I'll be honest: Sean May and Jermareo are the keys to our playoff chances this year. We're so close I can smell it, but it's still so damn precarious I just don't know what's going to happen...Still, should May not make it back, this will be the year of the Jermareo!!!

Yeah I don't know. I agree with you that May is the key this year and okafor.
I think ammo and may are going to take a few games to get in game shape, but I definitely see bias in the past few threads talking about the scrimmage and camp. Some seem to more biased towards may , others moreso towards ammo.

So i just try to take away the positive out of the ones fro ammo and positives for may, and think hmmm maybe we are really going to pull this out this year.

Beagle, you in lexington or thomasville?
