    SPOTLIGHTS DELL AND STEPHEN CURRY

30-Minute Special Debuts on Saturday, November 1 at 10 p.m. ET on SportSouth

SportSouth today announced the debut of Spotlight: Dell and Stephen Curry, the next in its series of SportSouth Originals. The 30-minute interview special chronicles Dell’s days as a college standout at Virginia Tech and his 16-year NBA career and follows Stephen’s journey to Davidson College, where he proved his doubters wrong on college basketball’s biggest stage. Fox Sports Carolinas Bobcats’ reporter Stephanie Ready talks with the father-son duo and highlights their relationship, as the son, who grew up watching his father in the NBA, now takes center court.

Spotlight: Dell and Stephen Curry premieres on Saturday, November 1 at 10 p.m. ET on SportSouth following the Charlotte Bobcats’ game against the Miami Heat and Bobcats LIVE post-game coverage. The special has additional airings on November 6 at 6:30 p.m. ET, November 12 at 7 p.m. ET and November 22 at noon ET.

On leaving college early for the NBA

    · “I didn’t really think about it until about five minutes after we lost to Kansas because that was the first time anybody asked me about it. One of the first reporters who came in the locker room said ‘Are you going to the league?’ I didn’t even know what to answer, so immediately I said ‘No’ just thinking that’s what I was going to do, just looking forward to next season.” – Stephen Curry

    On Stephen’s new-found celebrity status

    · “After {Davidson} lost to Kansas, we came back to Charlotte and went to a Bobcats’ game. We walked in and security said ‘Do you think you’ll need some help?’ And I said ‘No, he comes to games with me all the time.’ Well, we needed help. We needed help.” – Dell Curry

On how his relationship with his father influenced his decision to attend Davidson College

    · “That’s why I wanted to stay close to home, just so I could be around him.” – Stephen Curry

SportSouth has created appointment viewing for its SportSouth Originals franchise. A two-hour block of SportSouth Originals begins every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET and includes programs such as Under the Lights; In My Own Words; Spotlight; At Home and Straight Up. In the past two years, FSN South and SportSouth have received 14 Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Southeast Chapter, seven of which were awarded to the Original Programming team.

SportSouth reaches more than nine million cable and satellite homes across a six-state region in the Southeast. Through its affiliates and other Fox Networks Group-owned networks, FSN reaches more than 70 million homes through 16 owned-and-operated networks. FSN’s owned-and-operated networks serve as the cable and satellite TV home to nearly two-thirds of all NBA, MLB, and NHL franchises in the U.S., producing close to 5,000 live, mostly local, events each year, including more than 1,600 in high definition.

Cool, but as a Charlotte student I absolutely despise with every fiber of my being the pre-puberty school boy that is Stephen Curry
