    Default Rumor wire tidbits

nothing special... but a couple interesting notes from espn.

First off Sean Williams info. while we are talking about trading for Sean Williams, New Jersey is apparently thinking about sending him down. D-league style.

    <H3>Williams To The D-League?

    Sean Williams | Nets
Sean Williams has played 24 minutes all season -- that includes an adventurous eight-minute stint Wednesday night. And when Stromile Swift returns from his back injury in a week or two, Williams' chances of seeing court daylight may diminish further.
So while the Nets haven't exactly discussed the possibility of sending Williams to the D-League for some grooming, team president Rod Thorn didn't deny it's crossed his mind. "Right now there are no plans for that, but it could be a possibility at some point in time," Thorn said. "Obviously Sean needs to play, but we don't have any plans now. We have to see what happens." -- The Star-Ledger

and here is some info on Sean Mays new diet. he has about 10-15 more pounds to go till his target weight.

    May's New Diet

    Sean May | Bobcats
Sean May says he's addressing the conditioning issues that sidetracked his return from knee surgery. May said he weighs 274 pounds, with a goal of getting down to 266. He recently consulted with a nutritionist, who switched his diet from high-protein/no-carb to including whole grains.

"When you go on a high-protein diet, for an athlete it's tough, because you're basically putting your body on starvation mode. It's holding on to every carb you have, whether it's good or bad," May said he was advised. "I didn't have a lot of energy -- I was dead in training camp -- because the main thing I was worried about was getting my weight down." "The main thing is I stay away from sugar and white flour," May said, "because with my body type, I'll just hold on to it." -- The Charlotte Observer

it seems like we continue to get turned down quite a bit.......so i'm starting to think that if we are to trade, it may not be until closer to the trade deadline...and who knows, we may not even get to get anything

as far as sean may... "The main thing is I stay away from sugar and white flour," = no more krispy kremes or bonjangles bisquits

How is he just figuring this stuff out? Doesn't the team hire nutritionists? Hell, wouldn't a trainer know that enriched flour and sugar is bad for someone who has a weight problem? Did they also happen to tell him to stay away from the alcohol, because that would probably help too?

I posted a reply to an article about LB's staff. His strength coach has no formal degree. I would offer my services to may as a sports nutritionist and exercise specialist, but I am at Duke. Hell, I live in Chapel Hill, he could come back here and I could have him in pretty good shape and weight by the All-Star break. I would do it for floor seats to a few weekend games that I could make it to Char.
