i think what the article is suggesting is that Marbury is being activated to PLAY FOR NY tonight b/c they are about to trade more players away and need enough to play the game for tonight. Not that they are trading Marbury, he is playing tonight for them.
Now here's someone who reads before he types.
So who is inactive? There are the Randolph rumors floating around with either Dallas or LAC.
I think the point of the article is to say that there's no one to be inactive after this deal they're set to make. The NBA requires you to have 8 players at least suited up. Must be a big deal to force them to do it.
