To me this is written better or more professional than any thing Bonnell and the obersever puts out about the Bobcats, To me this makes our media coverage look bad. If we had the kind of coverage the Bulls have , The arena would be full.
Remember this artical is coming from Chicago and is covered better than the oversever .

yea bonnell's sucked
Bonnell has no competition, so there is no incentive to do anything better than anyone else.
I actually think Bonnell does a great job. I enjoy reading his blogs and he seems to really know whats going on with the Bobcats.
As far as the article you posted, the article for the Chicago paper was longer because it was explaining something that people in Chicago arent as familiar with. The Bonnell article was just an observation for something people in Charlotte have heard a million times. He just wanted to quickly point out the most recent quotes about this situation. The Headline even says "OBSERVATIONS". No need to write a long story about it.
I think Bonnell has actually been o.k. this year. He updates a couple of times a day between game thoughts and his blog.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
It's not really fair to compare Rick Bonnell to Sam Smith. I'm sure Bonnell would agree with that. Smith is one of; if not THE most pre-eminant NBA beat writer ever, who just retired from the Chicago Tribune this year and is now writing exclusively for Bulls.com. His tenure included all of the Bulls championship years with MJ.
I'm sure his access to NBA players and management is lightyears beyond Rick's, especially including MJ and his posse.
Check out this link for a 1993 book Sam Smith wrote called "The Jordan Rules" hmmm....I think I'll order it for Christmas!

Maybe in 20 or 30 years after Bonnell has the history, memories and access of a Sam Smith; he'll write this kind of stuff too.
Bobcats Redemption?
