why is everyone hatin' on carroll?
a couple of years ago and everybody was on this guy. he could shoot from long range, was developing into a scorer and played decent minutes.
this season he seems to be in larry browns doghouse. minutes are way down and his production is down
so why does everyone in this forum continue to bag the poor guy?
hes not old and is better than adam morrison (at least right now)

he's not as versatile
he succeeded in a team with no true offensive system ..we were a jump shooting team
he sucks when you take into account how much money we owe him and the length of his contract..it's all relative, you could get as good of a shooter and more athletic player for that kind of money
plus, while he's score points as of late..the times when he was wide open to hit a 3 he didnt convert him..for the amount of money he makes, he should be clutch
take ben gordon's salary for example...$6M a year...vs Carroll's $5M a year
does that change your perspective?

I don't think anybody is hating. Last year he was mediocre. The year before was when he was good.
This year he's just been up and down. The problem is that a guy like Carroll you need to be money when steps on the court. That's the ONLY reason he got the money that he got. However, he hasn't been that good of a shooter.
He's a good guy. I'm glad he has been a Bobcat. However, if the Spurs or some other playoff team offered us something nice for him, I'd be happy to let him move on.

He is pretty clutch considering that he comes off the bench after about 25-30 minutes per game...idk but 6 points in 4 minutes is pretty clutch.
You can't be mad at him for taking the money. They agreed to what his agent requested...end of story. He's not a LB type of player, no fault of Matt's, you can't ask a zebra to change its stripes. Sounds like a bad contract at the end of the day, not a bad player.

No matter what he might have done in the past...this year he's very suspect. Matt plays hard and he's intelligent i'll give him that. But his ONLY job is to shot and he hasn't done a good job this year.
matt carroll was better as a secret weapon. stick him in the corner, drive, kick out three. not in a set run the play offense. he thrived off getting open in the corner, and like all shooters, rhythm and confidence, neither have been there this year. that contract is kinda mmm but remember when he did average 10ppg or more.
