Default Good crowd tonight, awesome time

My wife and i had a ball tonight watching them play the Celtics. It solidified in my mind that getting the half season pass was the right move, even she is not a excited supported and asked when the next game was (I could tell she was jsut along for the ride the first three games)

I also have concluded two things:

    1) Felton must go, when Bell gets back DJ should move to point full time. Felton is more of a liability than an asset

    2) Why the F is Diaw allowed to hang out at the arc for half the game. I enjoyed his game against the bucs on Saturday, tonight he was useless

    Go CATS, what a night

Without Felton, we lose going away in the 4th quarter. Rondo had DJ frustrated on both ends. Why he needs to go is b/c Bobcats fans will only see his faults while ignoring the positives he brings as they are so caught up in it being DJ vs. Raymond when the best thing is DJ + Raymond.

I am a brand new fan, never saw a bobcats game until i saw my forst of 4 now in person two weeks ago. I have no interest in pushing DJ I just see what I see with about as an objective eye without bias as possible as i am a brand new fan.

He makes way too many mistakes and is careless. I don't see him shine in any one area. I don't think DJ is an all star by any means but he has a lot of growth potential. Felton is probably as good as he is going to get which to me is no where near good enough if you are really going to build a contender

Just my 2 cents but having played ball all thru HS and College and coached it at the youth level for years I know what i am looking at. Like i said i jsut started following this team and its players as i just moved here. Felton ust doesn't have it

My dad followed basketball for years and was a frequent attendee at Bulls and Hornets games before I was born, and we went to his first nba game in forever for my brithday against the knicks on the 30th

he said felton thinks too much of himself but that the rest of the team just stands around and doesnt get open...but he also said that this is Felton's first real coaching (same for Okafor, Wallace, and Carroll) and after a lil bit he should get some help and improve

Back to Carroll (my dad had no idea who he was) : My dad said he could be a great clutch guy if LB uses him right, and that he was going to thrive with fewer minutes

    what do you guys think?

Did you watch the defensive end of the floor? Did you watch his defense on Allen and Rondo when he was switched to him to slow him down?

The guy made his share of sloppy mistakes that frustrated me, but Boston wins going away without Felton. DJ had 2 live ball TOs that lead directly to Boston scores and was getting taken to the hole by Rondo. He was frustrated on both ends and Boston was taking over the game. Having Felton allowed him to go to the bench and recompose and also us to regain the momentum.

He played well in OT, but Felton was a lot of why we got to OT. They are both assets to the team right now. That said, if you saw nothing from Felton in that game, I am not sure what to tell you. I never claimed perfection as I mentioned he had his share of shortcomings in this game, but to simply call him a liability in this game doesn't add up, IMHO.

I notice that this happens in late game situations when Felton brings up the ball. The offense just stagnates. I don't know if this is a product of the other 4 guys on the court just knowing that Felton is likely to drive or take an ill advised jumper with 17 seconds left on the clock or what. The lack of off the ball movement when Felton is running the point drives me nuts. Oftentimes, Felton himself ends up having to direct traffic.

One thing Ray could do is make smarter decisions on fast breaks off turnovers or long rebounds. So many times he will drive himself and shoot from a bad angle. The play where DJ did the sweet behind the back to a trailing Felton is an example of what to do in that situation. Those 4-6 points a game are often the difference betweens W's and L's.

For Ray, I think its just a bunch of small things that he needs to improve on and I think the W/L ratio will improve.

Not passing alleys to nobody in particular down 1 with less than 2 minutes to go with two defenders in between himself and that nobody in particular would help too.

Robert i mean no disrespect, but wtf game were you watching? You say felton must go, wtf are you talking about he had 25 and 8 and made some huge plays down the stretch. He is a horse in the open floor. I know he is no where near all star level yet but he does have more room to grow. I dont know why everyone is wanting to get rid of him so bad. Remember, he came out of the same draft class as chris paul and deron williams and was touted as equal with the two. He has not lived up to this yet but he has also been a part of a shtty ran orginization and team. He is not far from being a bigtime pg in the league, sounds crazy to some i know but hes really not just needs the supporting cast and some orginizational stability. We trade him and watch him go wild with another team!!! I also played through high school and college and have coached some youth aau stuff so i am not completely ignorant its just my opinion tho.

He's 24 years old, and has played for three coaches in three years. To suggest in any way that he's done developing is (no offense) foolish. Looking at LB's last PG project (I exclude that ridiculous year in NY) was Chauncey Billups. At 24, he'd played for four teams in three years (roughly comparable to what Ray has experienced with three coaches), was a defensive liability, a shoot first point guard that was close to working his way out of the league. At 24, Steve Nash was years away from winning his MVPs, and was entering his first year with Dallas, where his numbers were roughly comparable to Raymond's. My argument is not that Ray will win a Finals MVP or a NBA MVP, merely that judging PGs at 24 is unwise.

Just my 2 cents, but having played rec league ball, intramural ball in college, and played pick up against the likes of David Wesley and Sam Mills, and coached in a youth league for a year, I know what I am looking at.

Not to mention he's a lady's man and has Charles Shackelford as his avatar....

Non sequiter aside, this was a pure team win tonight, and Raymond had the game of his life; he'll always have his bonehead moments, but he made some amazing shots and played some great defense. I too think he doesn't have the "it" that DJ has, but he really is a warrior out there, and I'll miss him when he's gone.

we have to keep felton atleast for this year because, as much as i like dj, you ususally cant leave a rookie point guard to run a team. he still does have time to develop, but at the same time the talent is mostly there, what needs work is mainly decision making, and that can be hard to teach. what makes it worse is that to be a winning team you usually need a point guard that makes good decisions

i think it would do wonders for the team if he just got a little better at decision making, and became a little more of a facilitator instead of trying to force the issue.

we do seem to be a little hard on felton because every single player makes mistakes, but man he takes some shots and "lay ups" that just arent there and it drives me crazy!! lol
