Default Diop, Earl Watson to Charlotte in 3 team trade?

    http://www.boston.com/sports/basketb..._magic/?page=2

With the trading deadline a little more than a month away, talks between teams seem to be heating up. An NBA source said a three-team trade is in the works that would include Oklahoma City sending guard Earl Watson to Charlotte, Dallas sending center DeSagana Diop to Charlotte, and Charlotte guard Raymond Felton going to Dallas. The source added that Milwaukee might be on the verge of a deal, too, as several teams have shown interest in ex-Connecticut star forward Charlie Villanueva and guard Ramon Sessions

Even for Felton this would be a horrible trade IMO, Diop has 4 more years left on his contract that takes the whole MLE, Watson is another 6 million dollar guy, if we trade Nazr and Carroll, then it make it a bit better, but overall this is a horrible trade IMO...

This would be an awesome trade as long as none of Emeka, Boris or Gerald is involved. We get rid of the guy who's holding us back and get back a legitimate back-up point and an energy big man who is not going to score much but can provide quality minutes as a back-up. Their contracts kind of scare me, but if we can get rid of a bad one of our own I'm all for it.

That sounds familiar................... OH WAIT! That's exactly what we did with Nazr!

    Energy off the bench? Check
Not going to score much? Check
    Quality Minutes? Check
    Contracts Scare you? Check

Sorry guys, but we all saw how Nazr turned out. I know history has a way of repeating itself, but let's try and not let this bit of history be repeated

The MLE doesn't work like that. If we traded for those guys, it would be contract for contract. Next year, we'd be able to sign a new player for the MLE. As Spectre said in the other thread, I don't think it can work unless we have other outgoing contracts, like Nazr's.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

As i put in the main trading thread, http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...6~25&te=&cash= that would be good for us...

    This works as well http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...5~25&te=&cash=

And both of those work with or without us getting Green from Dallas. (I put him in there because my ideal trade would net us a veteran 1 and a good 2 to back up Bell).

While we're talking a 3 way with OKC and DAL, lets all dream a little dream with the trade machine...

I think something like this could be hammered out

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...5~25&te=&cash=

But since the LB and G Force saga he might have mixed feelings about it now

I'm still reading more on this trade, and the latest has it being a "round robin" trade, Felton to Dallas, Diop to OKC, Watson to the Cats... This doesn't work per the trade machine we'll be over 900k on the inbound side, as Watson makes 6 mil and felton is around 4.

The best I could do that makes any actual sense for the teams involved was this:

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...0~30&te=&cash=

Adding May gives us 6 mil out and 6 mil in, but I've taken the liberty of bringing in Green from Dallas (they probably won't miss him) so that we can have a better backup for Bell.

There's no incentive for us to do a swap like that. Look at Watson's PER vs. Felton's. Look at their EFF. On top of that, we'd be taking on another year of salary!

Interesting. So since Larry Brown plays Felton 38 mpg he's intentionally holding the team back?
