First let me say, it's great to have a site about the bobcats. I hate reading all the negativity on Charlotte.com. The bobcats have improved 10 fold since unloading Richardson.
I would also like to chime in on this trade talk....
Felton is an average point guard at best, who looks to score, before he passes. This is not a Larry Brown PG. DJ on the other hand, is a pass first PG, which in today's league is rare, which is why we drafted him. Watson is a tremendous back up PG who can get 25 min a game and most likely average 6 or 7 assists in the time and his three pointers. This is what we need. DJ will be top 5 in the NBA in assists next year if he starts. Write that down.
Diop would be a great upgrade from Nazi. He has a great upside, and can start at Center, this way Okafor can move to PF. I really like Diop.
I do think we would need a 2nd round pick, or another young player to at least make up for Feltons loss. Felton is a great guy and a decent PG, but he will never be a 20 ppg and 10 assists per game player. Personally I would love to get Gerald Green, or Bass in this deal to go along with them.
I really think this would be a good trade for us. I really really do. GO CATS!
Welcome to the board...
That aside please, a "pass first" PG is never ever going to get 20 ppg, I'd much rather a 10/15 pg though than a 15/10 pg... (felton is at 13/6 so above average)....
I will agree with you on one point, we need a bit more if we are going to take Diop's contract (which is a HUGE RISK). I think green would be great, I'd rather the Green on OKC than the one on Dallas, but I think thats less an option![]()
Welcome Winthrop. Y'all have been on a run down there in the SoCon, or Big South, which is it? Is Gardner-Webb in there now?
Anyway, I agree Raymond is an average PG, but he brings leadership and heart, with his drawbacks, yeah I would consider it almost a wash but he brings upside. Diop is younger and better than Nazr "don't call me that evil german name" Mohammed but he's a risk and we would not be receiving value for ray.
Welcome to the board!
Winthrop : Let me state like the others that we welcome you to the Boards! Looking forward to reading your posts and discussing the Cats with you.
Although I have been a vocal one about Ray's limitations, he is an important part of this team. My preference would be to have him come off the bench as an explosive 6th amn who can play both the PG and SG for us at times. He would still log major minutes, and in my eyes would have a strong shot at 6th man of the year award each year. But if we are to trade him, I just think we can do better than the trade being dicsussed with Dallas. But that said, I was not so high on the last trade, and LB proved me wrong. The trade has been good for us, so if LB deems this trade would also be good for us, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Welcome to the boards, sorry for the belated reply.
Some ground rules, established by me, and endorsed by no one:
1) Emeka is a 5
2) The same people that criticize Raymond nightly, give Wallace a free pass.
3) All the cool kids wear a BCP T-shirt.
