We have a lot of different looks now to. We can go big with anybody in the league (C Diop/PF Okafor/ SF Diaw or Wallace) now. That should take some defensive pressure off of Okafor too.

I love Matt and think that he was a great ambassador for the team. However, I'd rather have Morrison, especially if gets healthier, than Carroll. So, to me, this was a great on-the-court decision and a mild loss off-the-court.

Hollins had his moments, but I just don't think he's every going to pan out as a regular rotation player, at least, not on a quality team.

This also makes Nazr highly expendable, as we now have Diop and Howard as legit big back-ups, with Ajinca waiting in the wings.

Hollins is my second favorite player on the team. Carroll hasn't played well this year but I think he will raise his play making his contract a good deal before long. Diop could be good for us hopefully LB will demand and get a lot from him.

Also, this also means we still have Felton's talent and Nazr's trade value to make another deal work if need be.

I'd love to keep Felton, but I'm glad we could get Diop without sending Felton to Dallas.

WOW! Mixed feelings....I don't want to get rid of Hollins but then again Matt has not been doing too well and this might work out for us in the long run

"Getting out of that horrendous Diop contract is a fantastic deal, period."

They obviously dislike him, but its difficult to say how much of it is warranted. For example:

"I think this means that instead of unloading Diops contract and also picking up a potential all-star (Felton), the Mavs unloaded the Diop contract in exchange for some loose ends."

Anyone reading this board would think Felton was some scrub that can barely even be a starting PG. Yet this Mavs Fan considers Felton a "potential all-star." Interesting how different perspectives see things.
looks like the grass is always greener...i seen pretty glowing reviews from blazers, mavs and suns fans about felton

Diop for Carroll and Hollins I'm not happiest about, but at least long contract for long contract. Hollins has bird rights, which I'm not familiar with how that really works, but I think they have to get his permission to trade him.

This does open a roster spot which is awesome, because I think Felton+May = 2-3 good players, and/or we may bring in some D-League or veterans on 10 day contracts with the open spot. I honestly feel us making this move does nothing more than say we are still looking to make some moves...

Does nothing more? We traded a redundant player (Carroll) for a piece we need (Diop). The trade is pretty solid on its own merit.

I think i miswrote it...we'll suffice it to say that this is doubtful to be our last move based on the move being made.
