he sounds just like i thought he would
I saw some of these clips on the news yesterday..Here's an interview of Diop at practice yesterday

he sounds just like i thought he would
this might work great for us.
I dont see it hurting us in any way.
We still have a lot of what we lost in Carrol (Spot up shooter in Morrison, Cold as Ice shooter in Shannon Brown)
We still have a long skinny young center for the future (ALEXIS)
He just adds to what the team was missing, more D.
Just what Larry Brown wants.
I can't wait to see how he performs.
i hope he is a solid defender

I hope this shows he is.
I saw this video yesterday too...he is very agile/quick, a step up from nazr. i would contend he is even quicker than Mek on defense
good timing on his shot blocks...
but these are just highlights..gotta see if he can bring that a-game on consistent basis
what i'm excited about is adding depth to the center position. when mek has to take the bench there is an obvious momentum change. while we may/may not a drop in our offensive production, Diop will provide a boost on defense and help us maitain our lead or at least not let it slip...or if we are losing, avoid the margin to worsen
Yea I watched this man give Tim Duncan a run for his money in a seven game series a couple of years ago. He is a very solid defender. I want to see if his offense develops playing next to Diaw similarly to the way Okafor's did. I know Okafor is smart and more talented offensively to begin with, but I wouldn't be suprised if Diop became a solid 8 or 10 point man just on put backs and easy dunks off Diaw and DJ assists.
When they made this trade I kept wondering long-term do you think Brown will start Diop after he is comfortable with the system. He might slide Okafor to the four like you know he wants to and Diaw to the three. Then Wallace could come off the bench a la Manu Ginobili. He would really give us a huge lift off the bench with energy and scoring. Which is something we have been missing all season. We don't have depth but that might balance out the lineups. I just think we might be overloading the starting five a little by starting Diaw, Okafor, and Wallace. Thoughts?
GW off the bench?...i would find that hard to believe for a whole season?
I think it will be all based strictly on match ups...conceivable there might be times where GW might be on the bench... but that's only if Mek does produce points at the PF position. I really don't see this happening, specially a whole season
But..it's too early to tell, I'd like to see what happens if Mek does get the chance to play PF first.
