Default Can the Bobcats be players in 2009 Free Agency?

The trade for Boris Diaw early on looks to have been a good one despite what you naysayers say. However, we all know that at some point the Bobcats must become players in free agency. I know it's not that simple. But over the next two years there will be an impressive list of ballers available. Names like Marion, Boozer, Howard (2010 FA), Redd (2010 FA) and Chandler (2010 FA) to name a few, would be beneficial for the team success. Oh yea, let us not forget that it would put bodies in the seats at the arena. So I ask you this Bobcats' nation, "Can the Bobcats be serious players in 2009 FA?" If not '09 then how about the year we're all waiting for 2010?

    '09 FA:

    C. Boozer
    A. Iverson
    Lamar Odom
    Ben Gordon
    S. Marrion

A look ahead to a few 2010 FA not named LeBron or Wade:

    A. Stoudemire
    C. Bosh
    J. Howard
    T. Chandler
    M. Redd

Got a wish list for your Bobcats?

    Sound Off!

Their focus should be on their own free agents this off-season. Felton, Juwan, Shannon, and both Seans will all have to be addressed. They may have a lil cap room to play with, but more than likely it would be a 2nd tier guy that the team would be looking at.

Honestly right now I think the only names we need to be marketing to the Charlotte area are okafor (who is becoming better than most big men in the League), Diaw, and DJ...Wallace too

No need to get a big name for big bucks when we have a few here.

Hells yes... AI loves LB too from what I understand, so it could happen... Having AI teach the good sean would be wicked too...then we could have AI part II after he leaves

AI would be a pipe dream and really he doesn't make whatever team he goes to better. I agree with whoever said we need to look at our own first. Ray, in my opinion, must be a priority, unless DJ absolutely takes over after the all-star break. you keep singletary, let may walk, juwan can come back if he doesn't expect much money. I really don't know who else is a FA. We have some heavy contracts and I really don't know what the cap space looks like. Tamb is the guy for all that, where you at Tamb?

If he would be willing to take less money to play under Larry Brown, he could be that 1 piece we need to be a 'too legit to quit' type team in the East. A high scoring shooting guard that can consistently do it is what we are lacking, Raja is great, but he cannot score 25 points on any give night, that was never his role. A rotation of Iverson-Raja Bell-Shannon Brown/Morrison would make me happier than a temporary marriage to Eva Mendez.

We need to go after the king and only the knig. MJ should be our spokesman. We have a young team that would be the perfect setup for a Lebron led dynasty. Charlotte is one of the holy citys of basketball. Larry Brown has a proven system. I think we have some things to offer.
