Default OT: What do you guys think of the changes at WFNZ.

btw Gary Williams is leaving WFNZ for Sirius/XM's Mad Dog Radio.

    The new schedule is
6-10 AM: MAC ATTACK with Celania
10-11: MAC, Celania, Buckner, Frank Garcia
11-3: Frank Garcia and Brentson Buckner
    3-7: Packman

IMO the only knowledgeable and levelheaded talk on the Bobcats and the Charlotte sports scene on the station is now gone with Gary out. The station and the sports talk scene in Charlotte took a big hit. Or does anybody even care about FNZ anymore.

Not a good sign for WFNZ advertisers that folks don't even know that its an AM station.

They need to pick up The Dan Patrick Show, instead of that Mac attack guy. I know he's local, which is nice to have, but he's also one of those radio personalities that feels he has to be harsh, caustic and loud to be relevant. Besides, they could still keep Mac, DP's on from 9-12 and is the best thing on the radio.

i listen to WFNZ..a bit in the mornings and afternoons on the way back from work. so, frankly doesn't really affect me much.

my only complain is that the Pacman should do a better job covering the bobcats. anytime bobcats are mentioned are as part of a joke. they usually have "skits" where they interview a fake jordan and make him out to be a fool. sure, its all in good gesture, and might be funny for some. but overall making fun of the bobcats makes it that much harder for them to gain a fan base in charlotte. i feel that in his show we only get coverage when something bad happens to us, ie when Jrich got traded, or if we get blown out. there is little mention when we beat bigger teams or put on a winning streak, etc.

I've listened to WFNZ since its inception. They still haven't replaced the credibility that Matt Pinto had.

Primetime with the Packman used to be a decent show until a few years ago, when it became mostly about characters and ACC talk. I find it unlistenable.

I could handle the Mac Attack, but I preferred Penner & Mac.

The Morning Sports Page was by far the best show they had on the station. Although the Buck and Frank show might be OK during football season, I'm not going to go out of my way to listen to it.

The Mac Attack in the morning, with Celania will be out of control. I like that some days, but you know, in the morning, I want to know what happened overnight as I drive into work. I don't think we'll get that with the new show.

I wish there was another local sports talk alternative in Charlotte, but this market couldn't support it.
