Robert, do you coach anywhere? If not, you should look for a spot at a school or something. You know your basketball.
Ask and ye shall receive. I was there again and we played well out of the gate and then absolutely sucked for nearly 2 solid quarters. Wallace won this game for us tonight. Really the main issue was Diaw (who i think is awesome) had a TERRIBLE game. He could not score, had tons of TO's and was rarely even used. RadMan caught fire in the 4th but up until then he was also a TO machine and got bet on D like a Gov't mule
Bottom line is that we are good enough now to beat the lower tier teams even when we play like Sh!t. I decent to good team would have beat us handily tonight but a win is a win. Credit it to Wallace as he made it happen everytime it needed to.
I could comment on Okafor but it was more of the same so no really need to. Decent Defense and completely p*ssy offense. I will leave it at that
Sat is a big one, too bad the bulls won tonight or we really would have made some ground up. Looks like it is going to come down to us and them
I may be critical of the team but i support them fully. If Diaw was on tonight we would have won by 30 and not had it be close in the middle but i will take the W anyway we can get it
Robert, do you coach anywhere? If not, you should look for a spot at a school or something. You know your basketball.
I played in NY all thru HS and into College, got diagnosed with a heart condition and that was it for competitive basketball as they did not find a way to cure my arrhythmia until 4 years ago when i was 27. I have coached Youth Basketball and plan to do so again in the fall now that we are moved into our house here, etc
A lot of people on here know the game. Not being a long time fan (saw my first cats game in mid december but have not missed one since) I think i still can be fairly objective
We have a decent mid tier squad now. For a lot of long time fans who have put a lot of time into this team it must be VERY exciting. Having just gotten into the team as we just moved here i am spoiled to a degree because i have not seen this team when it flat out was terrible.
Having said that who wants to be mediocre. We really are I think just one move away from really making some noise and that is getting tough inside. Crash being a toughness to the team and is really the sole reason we won tonight, Diaw was off but that is an abnormality and not the norm. He is the right guy for us at 4, crash at 3, Felton has come a LONG way just since i started watching and DJ is a great releiver and scoring threat is not ready to start yet, Bell when his shot is on makes us not just a decent team but a very good one, as of late his shot is inconsistent though, he makes up for it with Defense.
I just want to se the team have a viable shot of getting into the playoffs a round of two as we have somewhat sacrificed our future to make the team a lot better this season. Becoming a top tier team will require Okafor to go and Bell to shore up the streakiness in his shot (I think his arm may still be hurt worse than we know)
Oh I'm sure Raja is hurt more than he's letting on to anyone, and I'm sure LB knows and doesn't mind. It's not like Raja playing hurt is worse than any other lineup. And Raja plays his ass off, and makes the other guys play better at the end of the game. He is much like Juwan with his leadership, and even if he's hurt and inconsistent I want him out there.
I totally agree with you on Mek, I think you've figured that out by now, but I just can't see any deal out there that makes us better thats viable.
I am wondering if Diaw is hurt, he has been way off of late, with the exception of the Toronto game...
As far as the coaching, what age groups do you coach?
It was like having teeth pulled, but at least they used novacaine; that's the best way to sum up the game. Robert's right: the first quarter was lots of fun, but the 2nd and 3rd was a combination of boredom and torture as anyone not named Gerald Wallace or Raymond Felton was interested in holding on to the ball or making a smart pass. I even had to cuss at my man Boris late 3rd/early 4th when he let a great GW pass slip out of his hands.
Absolutely this one was all Gerald though; the Kings couldn't even comprehend the question, much less have an answer for GW on the boards. He was just fucking beastly on the offensive boards whether he was out of position or not....nobody was stopping him. What an honor to have him on our team, I'm reminded for the nth time!!! That said, what a fright he put into us again late in the 2nd when he went down with I don't know what and went back to the locker room at the half. And what a great sight it was to see him come out of the locker room first for a rare halftime shootaround.
In summation: very ugly and painful at times, but an excellent result, so a great game.
After the Wolves loss, I figured they need to win 6 out of their next 7, so now that's down to 4 out of 5. We'll see where it goes from here.
Tattood: Missed Whitfield, but I like it up in my nest just fine, so it's no big deal. Still, even though it was brief, always good to see you, man!
Keetch: You're a celebrity, bud! You're in the back of the "Gametime" program in the "what's missing" section yukking it up with GW, Nazr and Raymond. I'm bringing that picture next game so I can get a signature![]()
"The Charlotte Hornets name has been a mainstay throughout the region for many years, and we are excited to announce our intention to re-establish this historic brand. We believe that its return will galvanize our fan base by unifying our loyal Bobcats fans with those who have strong memories of our city's NBA predecessor." MJ, 5-21-13
Hiya Beagle....it was a strange game; after a dominating 1st Quarter we seemed to coast through most of the rest until the starters were put back in in the 4th. Unlike the Wolves game though, I don't think this one was ever in doubt.
Props to Gerald on another warrior effort; to Raja for some key shots and steals; to Gana for finally making a free throw even though it took the whole arena, including the Cats bench; getting up out their seats yelling at him to at least throw it fricking far enough. Props to Emeka for yet one more efficient game banging in the paint. Hawes had no chance.
Sorry Beagle but my agent (wife) won't let me sign my name on nuthin' anymore...seems whenever I do I end up owing someone money
I think a little highlight for me was watching one of the refs standing under the basket during a timeout singing along happily with the loudspeaker music. When Emeka came out and stood near him, the guy just kept singing and looking up at Emeka. I don't think he got a response. It was just weird. Less than a minute later the guy made a god-awful call and had the whole building on his ass.

Bobcats Redemption?
It's too bad Juwan is old as he really does have heart and I believe game left in him. It's a good thing Vlad makes shots as he offers little else as his D is terrible and his passing is worse and he certainly is not posting up anyone. I actually enjoyed watching Howard play in January when he was solidly in the rotation. Larry is coaching for the present and future though so i understand why he sits him
I don't think Diaw is hurt i think he had an off night and also i think that now that we are a credible opponent for most teams they are scouting us better and have more effective plans to defend and disrupt him. Having said that he had a mismatch all night if he wanted it down low, he could have posted up and abused the people defending him until they double teamed him then we would have gotten even more open shots, it was confusing to me as to why this never happened
Well...........on to Friday and Saturday, as with the rest another two must win games
Saw you up there and figured you must have missed him. It was good to meet him and I got his business card so that'll be interesting. I'm going to email him and ask him to bring back the $199 or less season tickets
I'll catch you at the knicks game probably, or Miami, or home playoff game #1![]()
