Default The Official "trade our pick thread"

Although there are still multiple areas between 10th-17th that our pick could be (plus #1-3), it looks like we will be picking either 13th or 15th. Once that is confirmed, how about the idea of packaging our pick with Nazr's contract for a trade? Not sure, but are their any solid SG's out there with only one or two years left on their contracts that we could go after? Just looking for a short term backup. Of course we could consider going after Raja's replacement too but I would hate to take on another large contract unless the player is a sure fire contributer to LB's system.

    thoughts?

With all the talent that there is in this draft I would rather pick a SG with our pick. I HIGHLY doubt that we would be able to get a decent player with our pick plus Nazr; we would have to have a top 10 pick IMO and I wouldn't even trade it then. Just take Evans lol.

it would be nice to package the pick and nazr to trade for Jamal Crawford. Don't remember how he works in LB's system or their relationship, but i think it could be a good trade if we can work it out with GS, Crawford and FO. just a thought.

    Plus what about Ben Gordon.

we have a few second rounders, we can pick up a sg with.

Crawford would be nice, and I could see that happening, but Gordon is way to high an asking price.

And if we get Crawford, what do we do in the second round?

I like the idea as I have no confidence in management in regards to draft picks. We could use the salary relief too...but I don't know about Crawford. Nazr isn't that big of a drag (one more year and he'll be an expiring), so I'd expect something decent with our pick thrown in.

And if we get Crawford, what do we do in the second round?
Combine them in a trade for a late first rounder...but I want to do that regardless.

I'd be all for trading the pick and Nazzy if it brought the right type of player back. I don't want the team to miss a step so bringing in a seasoned NBA'er would be better than a rookie short term - but what about long term and who would be a realistic SG target?

With all respect to this year's draft class. I'd MUCH rather trade our pick (10-14) in combination with Nazr or May, for Crawford. I honestly think Crawford would put us over the edge to becoming perennial playoff contenders.

At the same time, we could put two (or all three?) of our picks together or package something with them and work our way into the top 3 of the draft and pick up Blake or Harden.

that works too. We really have the potential to have all sorts of flexibility this summer with our picks and teams looking to dump salaries for the LeBron summer

That's the question. It'd need to be a 5 to 7 per guy and he would most likely have 2 or more years on his contract...and most definitely contribute more than Nazr (we're adding the pick).

Not really worried about the long term...we're still fairly young and in the trade we'd hopefully be getting our biggest need back.

I'm fairly certain the team cannot trade the pick, because it has already been traded to the Nuggets. I know the pick is protected, but it is my understanding that technically Denver owns the draft pick i.e. they could trade the rights to the pick (with protections in tact), but not the Bobcats.

Edit: Asset no. 9 on this list points to the same (although the pick protection is different from what we've been hearing.
