I think with the extreme depth they have at PF/C, they'll shock everyone and select PG Ricky Rubio and try to move Baron Davis...

    That's a nice young line-up

    Rubio
    Gordon
    Thorton
    Randolph
    Kaman

Rubio will be the first pick.

Replace Maggette with Al Thorton and you'll have a beastly (and probably better) young team (he's on GS now).

BTW, I think they will go with Rubio or Griffin, depending on who they are able to move off of their roster this summer (Davis or one of the PF/C). For now I think they go with Rubio though.

I also see them taking Rubio with the pick. Both are going to be great, but they simply have too much depth at the PF/C spots to pick Griffin.

(I know I said assume no trade downs, but if any team will trade their pick.. its the Clippers)

They may just take Rubio. But regardless of their other players, passing on Griffin would be very foolish. Take him and build depth. But passing on Griffin, even for Rubio, I think would be a mistake.

Many thought the same about last year with CHI's situation, especially in the beginning. In the end they took the PG and i would say it worked out for them, and Rubio is probably a better pure PG than Rose (but Rose is easily the better athlete).

It's kind of different though I think Rubio will be very good PG in the future but as far as prospects that would be able to step in from day 1 and contribute it wasn't that much of a drop off between Beasley & Rose compared to Blake/Rubio.

I'm thinking they take Rubio based on big man depth they already have and the Baron Davis factor.

I think they will trade down - so I voted Griffin. No matter what Griffin will be gone after No.1. and maybe traded later.

Maybe we can trade them Bob Johnson for the pick. Their owner can use his influx of cash!
