Default BCP Mock Draft Pick #3 (Oklahoma City Thunder)

Who do the Thunder select with the third overall pick?

Okay, Griffin and Rubio are off the board 1 and 2. I'm thinking the Thunder will take Thabeet and bring in a big bruiser to make up for the slight Durant. They won't need much scoring from him as they have plenty of offensive power to not require him to contribute much.

Thabeet has to be the choice here.

Thabeet, although if Rubio pulls out his buyout card and gives Memphis the middle finger, I see them taking Thabeet and OKC going for Harden here...although I could see Memphis going for Thabeet anyway

The Thunder have Collison, Swift and White at 6-9, 7-1 and 6-9, respectively (with White and Swift being rather young), so choosing Hasheem wouldn't be the most reasonable thing they could do with their pick, but they'll do it nonetheless.

And who of them is worthy of starting?

^ Nenad is the starting C, these fellas are backups (at 4 and 5).

Thabeet is vastly better (or can be) than the guys you listed. A huge defensive minded guy like him would be great for their team.

As the only Thunder 'fan' here (they are my 2nd favorite team) i would prefer to see James Harden taken with this pick. However, i wouldnt be suprised if Presti takes Thabeet or Rubio then trades them for Harden + a young player with a small salary. I dont reallly like Thabeet as much as i did when i didnt see anything but highlights of him. After seeing him play, he just looks like a taller, less bulky Desegna Diop with a little bit of Dwight Howard in him.

Word. Their offense revolves around Durant, Green & Westbrook (as for their defense, call me crazy but I reckon gingerhead still has great potential to be a defensive presence (Nick is also a solid defender)) and I think an upgrade at the 2 is a tad more important than acquiring a defensive minded 5, still, as I've said earlier, they'll go with Hash anyway.
