But did we really try hard to get them....NO. I am just mad that we aren't doing anything to improve the team. Look at just the Teams in out divison:

Hawks: Crawford> Law and Claxton or anyone else still on our team........
Magic: Carter> Hedo
Wizards: Miller and Foye > Rubio or any1 else at 35...especially rubio cuz he isn't coming over...plus one of those players(Miller or Foye) will add bench support
Heat: Legit playoff team if healthy

Hawks may or may not be better, but they have chemistry issues.
Magic are worse, Hedo is better than a washed up Vince, plus they lose Gortat, Rafer, and Lee.
Wizards might be better, we'll see. But not as good as us when healthy.
Heat are only scary with D-wade.

The names won't come 'til we make the playoffs, simple as that. We win, we become a hot commodity. So that being said, we need to hope against hope that all our pieces stay healthy this season and we need to play hard 100% of the time.

I'm sorry but we should have gone harder for AI. For that short a contract who cares. If he boosts us into the playoffs that is obviously great and gives us credibility around the league, but if he doesn't then his expiring deal can be very easily dealt or we just let it run out. I don't see why we didn't offer the full midlevel exception. IF he is willing to play for Memphis it is obvious that winning isn't the number one thing on his mind. Therefore it isn't a stretch to assume he would play for us if we offered more money.

This has been stated a million times, but I'll repeat:

When you get AI, you have no idea how it's going to effect your team. If he doesn't work out, it become a major distraction, which this young team doesn't need.

Again, there's a big reason why teams weren't jumping a the bit to sign him to the MLE.
