Default McCants is close to signing with Bobcats

    http://bobcats.realgm.com/articles/3...r_fresh_start/

“Obviously Charlotte [is a front runner], because of everything and because there’s a chance to play there,” says McCants.
Into the September, we're finally close to adding someone. I think he'll play for minimum, and he doesn't bother me at all. I don't expect too much, but he'd be a valuable bench player for us.

    Thoughts?

He lit us up when the kings played us at home. I feel like he has always been kinda screwed over in the NBA minutes wise. Sometimes he takes bad shot choices but I mean I guess he puts us in a better situation. I'm not sure what the motive is behind wanting him but as long as we sign anyone I'm cool with it and hes good a fairly young so shoot

LB could help his lack of BBIQ, and he's a fan favorite, so why not.

But why does he think he'll play?

Maybe he got an LB promise, or maybe he got an MJ promise? Hard to tell which one would be more in love with him. Though I don't really see why he would get a lot of burn. I see him splitting with Bo some but getting slightly more minutes.

I like his quote though: "Charlotte is the front runner because of everything..." Everything? lol really?

Just like with AI...if LB is willing then I'll back it.

Ironic that we dumped the 13th pick who then signed for the minimum for the 14th pick who'll also sign for the minimum...and they both played for UNC.

Karl probably has a better temperament to deal with McCants vs. LB...but should anyone have to work with both McCants & JR Smith?

I shudder to think that us signing McCants is the first step in us trading Raja and signing AI. AI, McCants and Hendo would then fill the two spot and there would be no controversy over who starts. The problem is that means in my mind we would be trading Raja for a backup PF. Starter for backup trades aren't the way to go.
But perhaps I just got way ahead of myself.

I think LB loves Raja Bell so much they'd have to physically pull him from LB's cold dead hands in order to trade him. Raja was the leader and LB's coach on the floor end of last season and I don't see him giving that up very easily.

This would only be for depth (and hopefully limiting Felton's time as SG).

I don't see Raja going any where . I think Brown could really turn McCants carer around. This kid could be a big time scorer and defender with the right coach . It would be a great battle with Hendo and press both players to get better'.

One all most want's to take a chance on McCants and give him like a four year contract
Two years at league minium . And two years team option. Still not a lot invested but you have him tied up for four years at bargin basment prices . If he works out. Im sure its a teaching year for Bell . And im sure the Bobcats want his aperant in place after this season.
Hendo and McCants could push each other quite well.
